Chapter 341: Each accusation hit Nyla like a blow. Her fists clenched tightly at her sides, her knuckles turning white. Stella pressed on, her tone fearless. "Callie is the best choice for you, Uncle Ethan. Nyla doesn't deserve you." Nyla's chest tightened as Stella's words cut deep. "I don't need anyone's approval," Ethan said, taking hold of Nyla's hand. "But if you say so," he added, his voice low but firm. "You and your parents can go abroad. There's no reason for you to stay with the Brooks family." Stella's eyes widened in shock, the full weight of his words sinking in.
He was serious-he was willing to expel her from the family. How could he? Her thoughts spiraled as panic took hold. If she were forced to leave, what would become of Lukas' standing in the Brooks family? What would he do without her? "Ethan, you can't do this. My father-he dares to defy me?" Ethan interrupted sharply, his tone leaving no room for argument. If not for his second brother, he might have already banished Stella to a place where no one would even remember her name. Terror flickered in Stella's eyes as she leaned against the wall for support, her legs barely holding her weight.

Ethan's expression darkened further. "Is my marriage something you have the right to question?" Stella froze, her defiance crumbling under the weight of his words. In challenging Nyla, she had also disrespected her uncle-a fact she realized all too late.
She hadn't just questioned Nyla; she had questioned Ethan, the family head himself. And no one who defied the family head ever came out unscathed. Ethan didn't spare her another glance. Taking Nyla's hand, he walked away, leaving Stella slumped against the wall, her mind racing with the consequences of her actions. All the way to the car, Nyla remained silent. Her expression was calm-too calm-an unsettling kind of stillness. Ethan glanced at her, irritation flickering in his eyes. Her indifference, and her earlier words, gnawed at him. She wanted to leave, even if it meant losing her life.
Did she really trust him so little? . . .
