Chapter 120: While unsure of Johnny's honesty, Nyla considered this a lead worth pursuing. "I'm going to dig deeper into this." Bonnie nodded, her face serious. "Okay, I'll handle it. Just focus on your recovery for now. Honestly, you haven't looked well since I returned." Lately, Nyla couldn't pinpoint exactly what was off with her health. Her stomach often felt odd, and there were times she lost her appetite entirely; however, skipping meals only made her feel sicker. Such symptoms were unusual for her, even during hectic work periods.
Normally, skipping a meal might lead to discomfort, but never to this extent. It was becoming clear she needed a medical evaluation. She offered a comforting smile. "Don't worry, I'm alright. If it turns out to be serious, I promise I'll visit the hospital." "Fine, fine," Bonnie replied, slightly exasperated as she motioned for the thermometer. After Nyla handed it over, Bonnie examined it. "You don't have a fever, but I'm taking you to get checked when we have a moment." Ignoring the commitment to a hospital visit, Nyla changed the subject.

"Are your parents coming home for the holidays?" Relaxing on the couch, Bonnie flashed her phone at Nyla, revealing a hefty bank transfer. "My father sent this to make up for not being around, which honestly just irritates me. I had other plans, and then-" Bonnie's excitement peaked as she suddenly sat up, a blush creeping onto her face. "Austen has insisted I join his family for the New Year!" Observing Bonnie's reddened cheeks, Nyla chuckled behind her hand.
"That sounds lovely." Discover your escape on g aln ov el s .com "What's so lovely about it?" Bonnie retorted, biting her lip and looking away, feigning indifference. "Has Austen been popular lately? It seems like he's been quite the catch." Reclining herself, Nyla mused with a twinkle in her eye. "Austen's attractiveness and kindness do make him quite appealing; it's not surprising he's sought after." After a brief pause, Bonnie dismissively scoffed, "He's just a typical charmer, that's all." Amused by Bonnie's reaction, Nyla turned her attention back to her phone.
Suddenly, Bonnie's phone rang. She checked the caller ID and covered the screen, flustered. "It's my advisor. I have to take this." "Go for it," Nyla said, keeping her friend's secret. Watching Bonnie dash to the balcony to answer, Nyla reflected on Austen's impact, impressed by his effect on Bonnie. Nyla made it back to Cloudscape Mansion just before Ethan's return. Bonnie, though visibly annoyed and puzzled by Nyla's insistence on returning, arranged for a driver to take her back. . . .
