Chapter 145: Had Callie not interfered, none of this would have happened. That cursed woman! Margaret vowed not to let Callie escape responsibility for her actions. The creative design department buzzed with activity, the team engrossed in discussions about the New Year promotional video and advertisements. With the holiday rush looming, their workload had nearly doubled. No one noticed Margaret enter, nor did they register the thunderous storm on her face. In her office, Callie sat slumped at her desk, frustration radiating off her.
She watched a video halfheartedly, stewing over her situation. Lisbeth's transfer to a foreign branch had left her drowning in an avalanche of work, all of which now fell solely on her shoulders. A sharp knock on the door snapped her out of her thoughts. "Come in," she called out distractedly. These days, document deliveries were constant. Without looking up, she gestured to the desk. "Just leave them there." The silence that followed was unnerving. Margaret stood in the doorway, her eyes blazing with fury.
Before Callie could react, Margaret seized an ink bottle from the desk and hurled it at her. "It's all your fault!" Margaret screamed. "You ruined my career! You used me, manipulated me! If I'm miserable, you won't have it easy either!" "Ahhhhh!" The bottle struck Callie squarely on the head, the impact sharp and jarring. Ink splattered across her face and clothes, staining her pristine blouse. Pain shot through her, leaving her momentarily disoriented. Before Callie could regain her bearings, Margaret yanked her by the hair and slapped her-hard.

"Go to hell, Callie!" Margaret's venomous words sliced through the air as she landed another stinging slap. Read new content at gαlnσνeℓs․com Callie flailed, shielding herself as best as she could. "Margaret? Are you insane? Stop it! Security! Someone, help me!" The commotion reached a crescendo, and employees burst into the room, only to stop in stunned silence at the scene before them. Margaret had pinned Callie to the floor, her hand tangled in Callie's hair, delivering slap after slap with unrestrained rage. "You tricked me!" Margaret shrieked.
"You told me Nyla had no connections, pushed me to go after her, and then set me up! You orchestrated the last incident, using me to accuse Nyla of violence. Your goal was to drive Nyla away, and you dared to make me your scapegoat!" Callie's desperate protests were drowned out by Margaret's relentless accusations. The crowd listened in shock. "And let's not forget Mr. Brooks! You made everyone think you're involved with him, but it's all lies! You act friendly, but you look down on everyone here!
You're nothing but a manipulative fraud!" Callie writhed beneath Margaret's grip, her voice rising in hysteria. "What nonsense are you spouting? Let me go! Somebody call the police!" But Margaret only slapped her again. "Police? Oh, I'll do you one better-I'll expose you to everyone! I'll post every rotten thing you've done in the company group chat. If I'm going down, you're coming with me!" . . .
