Chapter 101: She polished off her food in mere minutes, evidently starved. Upon descending from his study, Ethan noticed Nyla's joyful dining, her eyes twinkling into crescent moons of satisfaction. From where he stood, she resembled a cheerful chipmunk, her cheeks adorably filled with food. Nyla, relishing her dinner, swung her legs back and forth in contentment. When Nyla glanced up and caught Ethan watching her in silence, she momentarily froze, nearly forgetting to swallow. "Uh... care to join me?" she said spontaneously, her eyes sweeping over the nearly empty plates.
A blush crept across her cheeks in sudden embarrassment. Ethan was entertained by her spirited and endearing manner. Yet, he managed to keep a composed expression, though his voice grew noticeably gentler. "No, thank you. Finish up and then rest. We'll have a housekeeper here soon to handle the cooking." Disappointment flickered across Nyla's face. She had momentarily hoped that Ethan had prepared the meal, but that seemed unlikely, particularly at such a late hour. After cleaning up the kitchen, she hesitated. Ethan had retreated to his room.
She tiptoed to her side of the bed and lay down as silently as she could. The moon cast a clear light that night, illuminating Ethan's silhouette and providing her with a comforting presence. She reached out, ultimately only clutching the corner of his pajamas. Unbeknownst to Ethan, even such a subtle touch could bring Nyla solace and a sense of security. The following morning, breakfast was indeed ready, courtesy of the new housekeeper. Lunch arrangements were also extravagantly handled by a designated person.

With her ongoing illness, Nyla found herself with little to do, and thankfully, Callie hadn't stirred any issues recently. Lᴀtst chαptєrs in glnovels.cm It was only when Bonnie realized she hadn't visited the studio for several days that she sensed something off. "Where have you been? I've just pieced together the situation. Who sorted out Claudine's matter?" Bonnie's voice crackled with fury over the phone. A wave of anxiety washed over Nyla, making it impossible to conceal the truth any longer.
Yet, she attempted a weak denial, saying, "Just a friend." Bonnie's laughter was tinged with skepticism, her tone rising. "A friend who manages a medical team overseas and can handle over ten million in treatment costs? Why haven't I met this friend? Nyla, did you seek Ethan's assistance?" Nyla's response was a resigned silence. She recognized Bonnie's concern but felt powerless to alter the situation. Sensing her own severity, Bonnie's tone softened, her concern becoming more evident than her anger. "I'm sorry, Nyla. I didn't mean to come off so strong.
I just don't want you falling into serious trouble. I've figured out a solution for the financial issues. Don't overextend yourself." Rather than resenting Bonnie's intensity, Nyla appreciated her friendship deeply. "Bonnie, I'm not overextending myself." . . .
