Chapter 1253: "She's not just capable - she's fearless. No wonder she had the confidence to place such a high-stakes bet."
"This woman is extraordinary."
In business, perception was everything. And with Geltay's attitude shifting, the rest of them wasted no time in abandoning their earlier skepticism and embracing Allison with open admiration.
Meanwhile, Melany stood off to the side, watching in bitter frustration. Why? Why was everyone acting like a single hole-in-one was such an earth-shattering feat? She didn't know much about golf, but she wasn't blind - she could see that Geltay was now firmly in Allison's corner.
Swallowing the resentment burning in her chest, she forced a stiff smile and stepped forward.
"Congratulations, Allison."
Her tone was sweet, but the glint in her eyes was anything but.
"With such a joyous occasion, you wouldn't be stingy, would you? You'd want to share the happiness with everyone, right?"
She had planned for Allison to humiliate herself. If Kellan had actually lost his finger, it would have been even better. But she had never thought that things would turn out like this.

Melany gestured innocently at a sign nearby.
"I don't know much about golf, but I do see something interesting written over there. It says that caddies are usually tipped for exceptional shots, especially for a hole-in-one. The suggested amount is at least ten thousand. You're such a generous person, Allison. Surely you wouldn't be stingy now, right?"
Even though she was smiling, she was truly annoyed.

But beneath that, Melany was desperate to see Allison take a financial hit.
The surrounding staff exchanged hesitant glances. Black card members were exempt from tipping. It was an unspoken rule that the club itself rewarded the staff handsomely once the VIP members left.
Kellan, however, merely scoffed. "Ten thousand? Consider it part of the celebration."
He reached for his checkbook, fully prepared to cover it without a second thought. But Melany stepped forward quickly, shaking her head. "Mr. Lloyd, under these circumstances, shouldn't Allison pay for this herself?"
She had heard rumors that the massive sum Allison had won in Muisvedo had been funneled into Charisma Company. A large portion of Allison's money had left her account - and then vanished without a trace. It was clear that Allison had spent it all.
Melany thought that Allison was an absolute fool. She tilted her head, her voice carrying a faux note of admiration. "This is a bonus, after all. The person who made the shot should be the one to pay, right?" She pretended to look at Allison with respect, all while pushing her toward an expensive mistake.
"And besides, I know that Allison, you aren't the kind of woman who relies on a man to handle your affairs, are you? I remember you won a lot of money in Muisvedo, Allison. Surely you can afford it. I must say, I envy these caddies. They're about to walk away with a very generous tip."
Allison's gaze flicked to her, impassive. It was clear now - Melany had been snooping into her finances.
