Chapter 1220: Everyone gasped in shock.
No one had expected the specialist to arrive this soon.
But the man who had criticized her wasn't ready to let it go. "Your skills seem mediocre at best. What are you here for? To turn our high-end perfumes into something that anyone can buy?"
It was a poorly veiled jab, a trap to bait her into defending herself. But Allison wasn't one to falter. "Ah, so you must be very confident. Confident enough to believe your perfume will be a market darling, yes?"
Her words struck their mark like a well-aimed dart.
Everyone in the room knew the truth - his sales had been abysmal this year.
"You!" he sputtered, his face flushing with embarrassment as he turned away.
Allison didn't see the point in lingering. She wasn't going to get anything worthwhile from this crowd. Turning on her heel, she left the laboratory.
She understood her position - she was an outsider here. Even if she stayed, meaningful information wouldn't be forthcoming.
So, she hung back at a distance, ears tuned to the chatter that quickly erupted once she was gone.

"Wasn't Dibya Group supposed to cut ties with Aröme Tower? And isn't Fabian planning to sell the place? Then why did he send someone here?"
"Yeah, I heard Fabian's retiring. Maybe he's trying to cash in one last time before bowing out?"
"Don't be ridiculous. The man doesn't need money."

"Perhaps it's as rumored - he values Ms. Clarke and Mr. Lloyd from Ontdale."
Hearing that, Allison frowned.
When she'd spoken with Fabian, there hadn't been the slightest hint that he was retiring.
From a business perspective, it made no sense. Fabian selling Aröme Tower seemed improbable, unless there was something deeper at play.
Allison didn't linger long at Aröme Tower. Daylight, after all, was not the most discreet veil for investigations.
She quickly regrouped with Kellan.
"We might need to revisit Dibya Group tomorrow and have another word with Fabian," she said, casting one last glance at Aröme Tower towering behind her.
"There's something amiss here. From what I know, Dibya Group has always held a sterling reputation in Vrining's business circles. Yet now, it seems entangled, far from free."
Kellan shared her sentiments. "Given Fabian's stature, no one at Aröme Tower should be challenging his decisions. Yet, all he's done is send us, two perfumers, over, and even that has stirred a hornet's nest of dissatisfaction among the staff."
If this were Charisma Company, Kellan's decisions would hardly ever face opposition; they had become an unquestioned norm.
