Chapter 1039: The bodyguards still moved closer toward Allison. Brook's authority was absolute, and surely Kellan would not cross the line of bloodshed - not against his own father.
"Miss Clarke, Mr. Lloyd," one of the bodyguards began, attempting reason. "It would be wiser to cooperate. Otherwise, we cannot promise you will leave unscathed."
With that, they advanced, each step more deliberate than the last, their eyes fixed on the necklace.
Brook's voice carried over their heads, laced with disdain. "Restrain them, but do not hurt them too badly. There's no need for drama." He still believed Kellan was the same. Brook had once controlled everything, including the people in his life. Allison, in his eyes, was just a woman - a variable too insignificant to factor in.

The house echoed with cries of agony, each scream cutting through the air like a blade.
When a braver - or perhaps more foolish - man tried to strike her stomach with his knee, Kellan intervened, gripping the man's throat in a vice-like hold.
"I warned you once. Touch her, and I'll snap your neck. Looks like something is wrong with your ears."
In the blink of an eye, the man's neck twisted unnaturally, a sickening crack silencing him forever.
The entire room fell into an eerie stillness.
Even Nova recoiled in fear.
Those two… they were monsters wrapped in human skin!
Allison and Kellan did not hesitate to kill, their movements precise and efficient, leaving no doubt they were trained to perfection.
"Someone… someone is dead," Nova whispered, her voice trembling as she instinctively stepped backward.
Yet within the Lloyd household, no one dared to utter a word about such atrocities. Brook's face turned stormy as he bellowed, "Enough! All of you, stop this madness!"
Taking a deep breath, he barked orders for the body to be disposed of and for the incapacitated bodyguards to be removed from sight. The metallic stench of blood seeped into the walls of the house, cloaking it like an ominous veil.
Barton, trembling uncontrollably, dropped to his knees, keeping his gaze firmly on the floor.
