Chapter 475
“Mrs. Brown is calling.”
This time, Franklin actually heard him. “Mm.”
He glanced toward the phone, but before he could pick it up, the call ended.
He took the phone in hand and said quietly, “You can go now.”
“ Yes, sir.”
Chad left the office.
To showcase the new technology and expand the collaboration’s visibility both domestically and internationally, Wilson Corp immediately began releasing the news about their joint breakthrough with Cole that very afternoon.
Within hours, a press conference had already been scheduled.
When Franklin received the update, he said calmly, “Adjust my schedule.”
Chad hesitated. “You’ll be attending the press conference?”
“Mm.”
“This…” Chad faltered.
Franklin already had a major meeting booked for that same morning. One with Mr. Brown, who had traveled from out of state specifically to see him.
Surely Franklin hadn’t forgotten.
He hesitated, then reminded him carefully, “That day you’re supposed to meet Mr. Brown. He’s flying in just for this, if we suddenly change plans,
wouldn’t that-”
Franklin didn’t respond. He simply looked up at him, calm and unreadable.
That look was enough.
Chad understood at once that Franklin was fully aware of the importance of the meeting, and that he was choosing to change it anyway.
“…Understood,” Chad said finally. “I’ll reach out to Mr. Brown’s team and rearrange the appointment.”
The collaboration announcement was certainly important, but Wilson Corp had plenty of senior staff who could handle the event.

Franklin didn’t need to attend personally.
Still, Chad added, “The PR department probably isn’t expecting you to show up either. I’ll inform them to prepare your seating arrangement,”
“No need for anything elaborate,” Franklin interrupted. His tone was even. “I won’t go on stage. Just have them save me a seat in the audience.”
“In the audience?”
Chad blinked, surprised.
If Franklin wasn’t going to speak, then why attend at all?
But Franklin’s voice left no room for questions.

Chapter 475
“…Yes , sir.”
And so Chad followed the order as given.
The news of the Wilson–Cole breakthrough quickly spread online.
Within hours, it dominated industry headlines.
Julia saw the articles too .
She read the reports quietly, scrolling past dozens of glowing comments praising the project for “breaking through foreign barriers” and “bringing pride to the national tech field . ”
After a moment, she closed the browser window without a word.
The day of the press conference arrived.
Reporters from across the globe packed the venue.
For both Wilson Corp and Cole, the collaboration was a landmark achievement, and Maggie, as project lead, was among the key figures required to
attend.
When the event began, she walked on stage with Claremont and the other executives, sitting down in the seat marked with her name.
As she adjusted her microphone, her eyes caught a familiar figure in the crowd.
Franklin.
He wasn’t hiding, he was seated directly beneath her, just a few rows from the front.
Even if she hadn’t been looking for him, she couldn’t have missed him.
Sensing her glance, Franklin looked up.
A faint, almost imperceptible smile curved his lips.
Maggie’s movements paused for half a second before she turned her head away, pretending not to notice.
Claremont, noticing Franklin as well, gave a polite nod of acknowledgment before sitting beside her.
“I heard Mr. Wilson was very pleased with our final results,” he said quietly. “Seems he made time to come personally.”
Maggie only nodded slightly.
She said nothing.
