---- Chapter 467 Around dinnertime, when the Brown and Green families saw Julia getting ready to go out, they finally learned that Franklin had returned from abroad. When they heard he had come back that very afternoon, Tracy stomped her foot in frustration. "He came back this afternoon? If only he'd returned half a day earlier! The decision period's already over-" Sophia quickly echoed her. "Exactly!" And truthfully, everyone else felt the same way.
Just two days earlier, Julia had told them Franklin probably wouldn't make it back before the deadline, but deep down, they'd still held on to a sliver of hope, thinking maybe Franklin was just pretending he couldn't come back, planning to surprise Julia by showing up early and divorcing Maggie in time. But the truth was, he hadn't made it. ---- He'd really missed the window. So when they heard he was already back that afternoon, they couldn't help feeling regretful. If he'd been just half a day earlier, Franklin and Maggie would already be divorced.

Now, because of those few lost hours, they'd have to wait at least another month. Still, what was done was done. Complaining wouldn't change anything. Old Mrs. Green sighed. "It's been a while since Franklin came by for dinner. We don't know how busy he'll be next, but if he's free, Julia, make sure you invite him over. We still owe him a proper thank-you for all his help before." Julia listened quietly and gave a mild "Okay." Meanwhile, after work, Maggie went out for dinner with Johnny, Nolan, and Yulia. ---- When they finished eating, she accompanied Yulia for some late-night shopping.
By the time she got home, it was past nine. She noticed several unread messages from Isabella. The girl had texted that Franklin had brought gifts for both of them and that she'd bring Maggie's over in a few days. Maggie looked at the messages for a long moment before replying with a single word: "Okay." After sending the reply, she hesitated, checked her chats, and saw that Franklin hadn't sent her anything. She sat there in silence for a while, then put her phone down and went to take a shower. The next morning, Maggie kept an eye on her phone from the moment she woke up.
Even as she got to the office and started work, there was still no message from Franklin, no sign that he wanted to ---- go to the Civil Center to finalize the divorce. When Johnny arrived at the office and saw her there, he already knew. She hadn't met Franklin again. He frowned and muttered, half in disbelief, "Is he really that busy?" Maggie didn't answer. After reviewing a few things together, they headed to Wilson Corp for a meeting. Once they arrived, they were talking with some of Wilson Corp's staff when they suddenly heard a polite voice at the door. "Mr.
Wilson." Both Maggie and Johnny looked up, and there was Franklin, walking calmly into the conference room. He greeted them politely, expression composed. Maggie froze for a second. ---- Johnny's brows furrowed instantly. Then the meeting began. Everything went smoothly, exactly as Maggie and Johnny had expected. Franklin sat through the entire session, listening quietly without saying much. His presence wasn't even required for the discussion, it was Clear this meeting had nothing to do with him. So why had he come?
Johnny clenched his jaw and leaned closer to whisper under his breath, "You still think he's too busy? Looks to me like he's got plenty of free time."
