---- Chapter 439 Maggie was about to pull over and check whose phone it was when her own phone lit up-Isabella calling. As soon as she answered, Franklin's voice came through. "It's me. I think I left my phone in your car." "Tl send you my location," Maggie said coolly. "Come pick it up." "Okay." She pulled over and shared her location. It was several minutes before Franklin arrived. Isabella had fallen asleep, so Franklin came down alone. He took the phone from Maggie's hand. "Thanks." "No need," she said, her tone flat.
She was raising the window to leave when Franklin ---- added, "I have to travel again in a couple of days, but I'll rush back as soon as I can." Maggie paused. Their divorce cooling-off period was almost over. She understood:he might not make it back on the exact day, but it wouldn't be long. The last time the cooling-off period ended, they hadn't finalized the divorce-both had their share of blame. So now, hearing this, she couldn't bring herself to snap. "Got it," she said simply, and drove off.
Because Jason's family of four had other plans, Maggie headed out the next afternoon with Johnny, two of his friends, and Jessica-who had just returned from a work trip-to go camping. Glen had been right about the turnout; when they arrived, tents already dotted the grounds, the place lively ---- and crowded. Glen had gotten there earlier. He walked over as they pulled in. "You made it." Jessica's eyes lit up at the sight of him. She leaned to whisper in Maggie's ear, "Oh wow. Gorgeous. You two know each other?" Maggie nodded, about to answer when another voice cut in. "Mr.

Gray." Maggie turned and met Jimmy's dark eyes. Glen's expression chilled at once. He hadn't expected Jimmy to show up. Johnny, however, knew exactly why Jimmy was here. He coughed lightly and smiled. "Mr. Hall. What a coincidence." Jimmy returned the smile, but his gaze stayed on Maggie. "Long time no see." ---- "..Long time no see," Maggie replied. Jessica instantly put the pieces together, grinning as she murmured, "So Jimmy's here for you? You two-since when-" "No," Maggie said, frowning. "Don't start." Jessica just smiled, all knowing. Both Glen and Jimmy had come with friends.
After a round of pleasantries, when Maggie and Johnny started pitching tents, Glen and Jimmy spoke almost in unison: "Let me help you." "II!" Jessica nearly squeaked. Maggie understood Jimmy's intentions. Glen's-she wasn't sure about. Still, given how well she and Glen usually got along, his offer to lend a hand seemed natural enough. As for Jimmy, she was about to refuse, but he'd already ---- rolled up his sleeves and gotten to work. Maggie hesitated, then said, "Thanks... both of you." With extra hands, she didn't stand aside; she worked alongside Glen and the others.
Moments later, a fawning voice drifted over from nearby. "Mr. Davis, you're here?"
