Mr. CEO, Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time Novel

Johnny wasn’t answering her calls, but now he was sending his lawyer to speak with her about termination. It seemed that the matter had reached a point where there was no room for negotiation. 

With this thought in mind, she turned and exited the lobby. 

Not long after she left, Harry arrived at Cole as well. 

He came for a business matter. 

When Maggie learned that Harry had arrived, she left her office and headed for the meeting room. 

Just as she was about to leave, Glen entered her office looking for her. When he found that she wasn’t there, he asked around and learned that she was in the meeting room with a business partner. 

Glen initially thought it was just another normal partner, but upon hearing that it was Harry, he froze for a moment. Two seconds later, he made his way towards the meeting room. 

Maggie and Harry were engaged in conversation when they heard a knock at the door. Maggie assumed it was Secretary Kim coming with a message, but when the door opened, she was surprised to see it was Glen. 

“Glen? What are you-” 

“I just wanted to talk to you for a moment.” Glen spoke to her, but his eyes were focused on Harry. 

Maggie quickly responded ,  “I can’t talk right now; let’s do it later.” 

Seeing that the distance between her and Harry wasn’t too close and there were others in the room, Glen seemed to relax slightly. He nodded. “Alright.” 

He then turned to Harry and politely said, “Sorry to interrupt.” 

Harry didn’t reply. He understood exactly why Glen had come, but didn’t acknowledge him further. 

Glen left without another word. 

After he left, Maggie and Harry continued their discussion. 

As the conversation shifted to technical details with Liam, Harry’s gaze lingered on Maggie, not once shifting for a long while. 

He knew all about what had happened with Wilson Tech yesterday. Maggie and Johnny were firm in defending their rights, which was understandable. 

But to be honest, the entire situation could he considered a small matter. 

Although it was true that the Brown and Green families had made mistakes, the issue hadn’t escalated to the point of needing a contract termination. 

But the way Maggie and Johnny handled things, it was as if the more the cost of termination rose for Julia, the happier they were. 

But why was that? 

Was it because of Franklin? 

Was she still holding a grudge over Julia taking him away from her? 

If that were the case, it seemed like she hadn’t really gotten over Franklin. 

Harry’s gaze lingered on Maggie for a bit too long, making her notice. She turned her head and said, “Harry, is there something wrong ? ” 

Harry snapped back to his thoughts, looking at her with a smile before shaking his head. “It’s nothing.” 

After finishing their conversation ,  in the afternoon, Johnny called back. 

He said, “I just received word from the lawyer. Julia is still unwilling to terminate the contract. She’s even willing to pay us a high amount of compensation for the damage to our reputation, but I didn’t agree. Since we can’t come to an agreement, I’ve asked the lawyer to proceed with legal action.” 

Maggie responded calmly, “Alright, I understand.” 

After discussing this, Johnny added, “Tomorrow, Franklin will come to the company for a meeting. Charlie will handle most of the discussions, but there’s a document that requires your personal confirmation ,  so-” 

This meant that she would have to meet with Franklin the next day. 

Maggie understood his point and replied, “Got it, I’ll be ready.” 

The following day, Franklin and Chad arrived at the company in the afternoon. 

As Johnny had mentioned, Charlie initially received Franklin, but midway through, Maggie received a message from Charlie and headed to the meeting room. 

It seemed that Charlie had already informed Franklin that she was here to verify the contract details and sign the agreement on behalf of Johnny. 

When she entered the meeting room, neither Franklin nor Chad appeared surprised. 

She greeted them professionally, “Hello, Mr. Wilson.” 

Franklin shook her hand before sitting down. He didn’t say much. 

Maggie flipped through the documents and went over some of the terms with him. After confirming everything was in order, she signed the agreement and said, “Looking forward to our cooperation.” 

Franklin responded, “Looking forward  to  it .” 

With her part of the work done, Maggie was about to leave. She turned to Charlie and said, “I have some other matters to attend to ,  Lane, please entertain Mr. Wilson.” 

As she stood up and was about to leave, Franklin glanced at his watch, then looked up at her and asked, “How about dinner tonight? ” 

Before Maggie could respond, he added, “I’ll have someone pick up Isabella as well.” 

Charlie had assumed that Franklin was simply asking her out for a meal to celebrate their successful cooperation. But when he heard the second part of Franklin’s sentence, he froze, realizing that the tone between Franklin and Maggie seemed unusually familiar, almost as if they had known each other for a long time. 

And… Who was Isabella? 

It suddenly dawned on him that Franklin might be trying to bring up Julia, using Isabella as leverage in case she refused to have dinner with him. 

If this had happened in the past, Maggie might have felt a pang  of  jealousy. But now, her expression remained indifferent, and she replied calmly, “Sorry, I’m busy.” 

Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked out of the room without a backward glance. 

Franklin’s smile didn’t falter, even as he received her rejection. He seemed unfazed by her cold attitude. 

Charlie couldn’t help but feel something was off. He glanced at Franklin, wanting to say something, but Franklin just chuckled softly to himself, not seeming to care about Maggie’s apparent rudeness. 

Chad, who had been aware of the Wilson Tech situation, also shared the belief that Maggie was acting out of personal vengeance toward Julia, blowing things out of proportion to settle old scores. 

Previously, he had never been fond of Maggie, and after seeing her behavior, he became even more dismissive. 

Charlie, after several interactions with her, began to notice a strange dynamic between Maggie and Johnny. They seemed overly familiar with Franklin, perhaps even too casual. 

Yet, for some reason, Franklin seemed completely unbothered by it all. 

Charlie couldn’t figure out what was going on. As he saw Franklin preparing to leave, he decided to accompany him downstairs, still trying to make sense of the odd situation.
