Franklin wouldn’t report everything to Julia.
He replied, “I know. Mr. Wilson’s secretary informed me.”
Then, he changed the topic: “It seems quite lively today. Is there some good news?”
General Manager immediately said, “Our project had been stuck on a technical issue for more than a week, but just now, Director Brown completely solved the problem, so our project can continue moving forward. Everyone in the project team is very happy.”
Someone else chimed in, “We really have to thank Director Brown. A doctorate from a world–class university knows much more about technology than we do.”
Rex already knew Julia was outstanding, but now, he was witnessing her brilliance firsthand. Hearing so many people praise Julia, he couldn’t help but feel happy for her, saying, “Congratulations.”
Julia smiled and replied, “Thank you.”
She then added, “But it’s not entirely my credit. Over the past period of time, Frank has taught me a lot, which allowed me to grow quickly.”
Julia was being truthful, but everyone thought she was just being modest.
After a bit more chatter, the project team returned to their work.
Julia knew about the Cole press conference this morning but had been too busy to check it out online.
She picked up her phone and searched for the video of the Cole press conference. She then asked Rex, “Mr. Hardin, did you attend the Cole press conference this morning?”
Rex replied, “Yes.”
Seeing her seriously watching the video of the press conference, which showed Maggie introducing Cole’s products and technologies, Rex observed Julia’s expression.
She seemed calm, showing no dislike or frustration toward Maggie.
Thinking back to Christmas Day when Maggie had shown animosity toward Julia, Rex now felt even more that Julia’s mindset was far superior to Maggie’s.

He was about to speak when General Manager leaned in and said, “I also watched Cole’s press conference, and I have to say their technology is really impressive.”
Julia responded, “Yes.”
Rex didn’t understand technology well but knew that Cole’s technology was indeed outstanding. Seeing her flip to the part of the video where Johnny was speaking, he said,
“With Miss Brown here at Wilson, it might not be long before we develop even more advanced technology.”
Julia smiled lightly and said, “Mr. Hardin is joking. Compared to Mr. Gray, I’m still far behind.”
Rex thought she was being humble and said, “There’s no need to be modest, Miss Brown-”
“It’s not modesty,” Julia replied. “It has always been my dream to learn from Mr. Nolan. I met him a while
ago, but I didn’t meet the standard to become his student.”
Julia was being very frank.
Rex listened and felt that she was sincere and positive.
From this, he also understood why Julia was so interested in Johnny–not just because he was
outstanding in AI technology but also because he was a student of Nolan.
He said, “If you didn’t meet the standard, then just keep working hard. I believe with your abilities, Miss
Brown, you’ll surely achieve that goal one day.”
Julia smiled and was about to speak when Franklin walked in, “Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Hardin.”
Rex stood up, “No need to apologize, Mr. Wilson. I arrived early.”
After exchanging pleasantries, Franklin smiled at Julia and then went upstairs with Rex to discuss work.
Julia was about to immerse herself in work when her phone rang. It was a call from Logan.
Naturally, Logan had also seen the press conference. The tremendous impact caused by the Cole press conference caught his attention. He realized that the two projects from Cole would likely earn billions,
which made him anxious.
It should be known that their Brown family also ran a tech company. However, due to the lack of core technology, their products had no competitiveness in the market, and they had been losing money for
years.
They had been barely maintaining operations without seeing any progress.
If losing money could bring some results, it wouldn’t be so bad, but after so many years, their tech company had not improved. Each day of delay meant more wasted money–could he not be anxious?
He called Julia hoping she could help think of a solution. He knew that Franklin had been helping Julia grow these days, so he wanted to know if Julia’s abilities were now enough to catch the eye of Nolan.
