The implication was clear: when it came to Maggie, there was no guarantee that Johnny would separate personal from professional matters.

His father had instructed him to focus the next two years of collaborations on Cole, which meant that the prospects of these two projects were better than most people thought.

Though there had been some unpleasantness between him and Johnny, Rex didn’t intend to give up on collaborating with Cole just yet.

He said, “Since Mr. Gray thinks my proposal has issues, I’ll bring a new one to Cole soon.”

He glanced at Harry and added, “Since Mr. Gray still has other matters, I won’t keep you any longer. Farewell.”

With that, he turned and left.

Rex didn’t mention Maggie at all.

Harry, listening to this, quickly deduced that Johnny’s refusal to collaborate with Rex had something to do with Maggie.

He didn’t ask further but pretended not to hear. “I’ve also prepared a new proposal. Mr. Gray, Miss Miller, would you be free on Monday for a meal?”
