Whether or not Franklin still had feelings for her daughter was the most critical thing. 

Janice didn’t say it directly, but Julia understood her meaning.

Franklin called her twice more ,  but seeing that she kept ignoring him, the call was then redirected to Johnny. 

Johnny, of course, knew exactly why Franklin was calling him. 

He picked up. 

Once the call connected, he went straight to the point, asking, “Is President Wilson calling about the Wilson Tech 

matter?” 

Franklin responded, “Yes, President Gray, if you have any conditions, feel free to propose them.” 

“Sorry, President Wilson, but President Brown’s actions have already crossed my bottom line. I won’t back down on this matter!” Johnny’s voice turned cold. 

“Is there anything else from your side?” 

Franklin asked, “Is there really no room for negotiation?” 

“No,” Johnny replied curtly, then added, “This matter will be handled by me and my lawyers from here on. I don’t want your people disturbing my company’s employees.” 

“If that happens, I will start to think that you and President Brown are both disrespectful people who can’t distinguish right from wrong, and if that’s the case, I won’t be able to trust you. It will affect our future collaboration.” 

Franklin couldn’t break the deadlock with him, so he would inevitably turn to Maggie. 

Turning to Maggie wasn’t an issue, after all, Franklin couldn’t do much to her. 

What he feared was that Franklin might use the Miller family against her. 

Even if they could protect the Miller family, if Franklin actually went after them, it would spell a disaster for the Miller family. 

And since it was an unavoidable disaster, they’d try to avoid it at all costs.

using their newly aplished project to threaten him, warning him not to touch the Miller family. 

Johnny’s tone grew more serious: “ If  anything affects the cooperation between you and I, and the matter blows up, President Wilson, it won’t be easy for you to handle. You understand what I mean, right?” 

The news about Franklin’s tech 

project going head–to–head with similar international projects had already spread. 

The public was excited and had very high expectations for Franklin’s company. 

Cole was the ideal partner for this project. 

If Franklin, in order to protect his girlfriend, let the cooperation between Cole and his company fall apart, the news would spread fast. 

Once it made headlines, both Franklin’s company and the project would be tainted by scandal. 

The effect on the company’s image and the project’s reputation would be enormous. 

If Franklin’s personal issues led to such a significant crisis, it would directly harm the interests of his company’s other shareholders. 

With internal and external pressures mounting, the losses and stress that Franklin would face- 

Johnny didn’t elaborate further, but Franklin understood the underlying implications. 

He smiled and replied, “I understand what President Gray means.” 

Johnny knew that if he could think of these issues, Franklin surely could too. 

He coldly said, “So, does President Wilson have any more questions?” 

Franklin replied, “No.” 

After he finished speaking, Johnny immediately hung up the phone. 

As soon as he hung up, he called Maggie.
