Chapter 58: Milton raised his eyebrows and mused, "Don't you remember?" Candice shook her head and asked, "Did I do anything outrageous?" Milton paused and stared at her as he recalled the kiss from last night. His gaze made her nervous. She had no memory of her actions at all. She said warily, "Mr. Lopez, I'm sorry. I only remember getting drunk at the club. I can't remember anything that happened afterward.
If I did something that offended you or caused any damage, I am more than willing to compensate." Milton turned around and put on his robe while replying indifferently, "You did nothing." Candice let out a sigh of relief. "Regarding your bed sheets, blanket, and clothes, should I buy you new ones? Or send them to the dry cleaners?" she asked responsibly. Honestly, she hoped he wouldn't ask for new ones. After all, his clothes and sheets were very expensive. Milton remained emotionless as he replied, "Dry cleaners." "Okay." Candice breathed a sigh of relief at his answer. "Mr.
Lopez, I'm sorry to bother you. You could have just sent me to a hotel or asked Bettina to pick me up last night. You don't need to inconvenience yourself with my affairs next time," Candice said with a forced smile. She had never slept over at a man's house, let alone stayed in the same room. Milton frowned at Candice's words. Was she going to get herself drunk again? "Our contract states that you shall stay overnight if necessary," Milton reminded her. Candice was stunned. Then she remembered that Bettina had written it into the contract. No wonder Milton took her home directly.

She had been tricked by Bettina. "So, can I leave now?" Candice asked as she got out of bed. However, before she could go, Milton squinted at her and said, "Aren't you making breakfast? I'm hungry." "Me?" Candice pointed at herself and clarified, "You want me to make breakfast?" Read exclusive stories at gαℓησνℓs․cøm "Or are you waiting for me to do it?" Milton replied sarcastically. "No... I'll do it." Candice smiled awkwardly. After all, she should thank him for taking care of her last night. How could she leave without showing gratitude? However, why did she have to make breakfast?
His house was like a palace. Wasn't there anyone who could cook for him? Candice hurriedly got ready in the bathroom before heading to the kitchen. She opened the refrigerator and saw all kinds of high-end ingredients, fruits, milk, and more. The variety was overwhelming, causing her to panic. Meanwhile, Milton, wearing a robe, sat on the sofa watching the news. Soon after, he heard an unusual noise from the kitchen. He stood up immediately with a frown and went to check. The moment he walked into the kitchen, his eyes widened in shock. Was he on a battlefield?
Eggshells were scattered randomly over the luxurious countertop, carrots were terribly cut, celery, rice, and water were carelessly thrown into a pot. Not to mention the poorly handled expensive trout... "You can't cook?" Milton asked, looking at her in disbelief. Candice was startled by his voice. Her hands were stained with egg as she replied awkwardly, "I... I haven't cooked before..." "What's this? Are you waiting for the rice to turn into porridge?" Milton boomed. He pushed her aside and said solemnly, "Get out." Candice hung her head and left the kitchen dejectedly.
She had never prepared food growing up; she spent all her time studying and always bought fast food for meals. Candice waited idly outside the kitchen. She didn't know what Milton was doing inside. About half an hour later, Milton called her to the dining room, and she was surprised by the breakfast spread before her. It looked exquisite. There was a tee-fish salad, grilled salmon, corn potage, and an omelet with poached vegetables on the table. "Did you make all of this?" Candice asked hungrily. She hadn't been hungry initially, but her appetite grew when she saw the impressive spread.
Milton wrinkled his brows at her. Of course, he had made it all himself. He handed her a knife and fork, and they both sat down to have breakfast. It was the first time Candice had ever eaten such a luxurious and exquisite breakfast. It rivaled food prepared in high-end restaurants. The meal Milton prepared seemed like a reflection of himself-extremely meticulous and perfectly executed. Even the plating revealed his keen aesthetic. It was hard to imagine a man who saw himself as superior to others and was born with a silver spoon could cook so well. . . .
