Chapter 22: The Towell Restaurant was well-known in Ploville. The summer air was still a little chilly, and the sky was a clear blue. The restaurant offered a panoramic view of the city's stunning scenery. Turning to the man sitting next to him, Raul said, "Candy's joining us to sign the contract. She's taking our case. How did you manage to convince her, Milton?" Milton lounged lazily on the couch, arms crossed over his chest, unwilling to say a word. His mind drifted back to that night when he stumbled upon Candy being attacked.

She fought so skillfully that he couldn't help but be spellbound. Sensing Milton's reluctance to speak, Raul prodded him, "You must have done something to change her mind. You're good! Tell me now-did you seduce her?" Milton stared at Raul, speechless. How could he have seduced her? Suddenly, Candice walked through the door and made her way to the terrace. Raul noticed her first and called out, "Candy!" Milton's eyes fixed on the door at Raul's voice. As Candice removed her sunglasses, her bright eyes sparkled. She was on the phone again.

She looked stunningly different from the last time he saw her. Her face was free of makeup, yet she looked gorgeous. She wore a black business suit, carried a black briefcase, and held a bouquet of flowers in her arm. Unable to resist complimenting her, Raul exclaimed, "She's beautiful even without makeup and in corporate clothes. She looks very professional." After finishing her phone call, Candice joined them at the table and said, "Mr. Hinks, Mr. Lopez, I came with the contract.

Please have a look." Placing the bouquet beside her, Candice pulled a document from her briefcase and handed it to Milton. "I've reviewed the case, and there's a good chance of winning. Raul looked up from the contract, surprise written all over his face. "Twenty million dollars for legal fees? And thirty million for charity? Candy, that's quite outrageous." Fifty million in total. Candice casually took a sip of the orange juice on the table. She shrugged and said, "We mostly handle public service cases for free, so we charge a premium for private cases.

The thirty million dollar donation is to help repair your company's reputation. You won't lose anything. But if you think it's too much, you can always look for other lawyers." Raul flashed a smile. "No, no. That wasn't what I meant." And he meant exactly that. She was a public service lawyer? More like a modern Robin Hood. Well, it wasn't his money. The man next to him was very wealthy. "No worries," Milton said casually. "Please sign here." Candice gestured to the last two pages. Raul signed the contract. Next, it was Milton's turn to sign.

Suddenly, Candice narrowed her eyes as she saw a familiar person not far away. It was Madilyn. Madilyn had failed two attempts to harm her and had been quiet since, maybe out of fear. Candice couldn't help but wonder if it was just a coincidence that she came there to dine. Madilyn saw Candice and at first seemed shocked. But then she pulled out her phone and started taking pictures. . . .
