Last night, once he was certain Candice was asleep and he could control himself, Milton had untied her. Now, gently lifting her wrists, he studied the red marks with tenderness. Slowly, he lowered his head and planted a kiss on one of them. Startled, Candice tried to pull away, but lost her balance and ended up sitting on his legs.
