Chapter 625: Linsey cried out, her face turning pale as sweat broke out on her forehead. The old injury on her wrist flared with renewed agony.

Seeing Linsey in pain brought Carol a perverse satisfaction.

Even the slightest effort was enough to hurt her.

Carol's eyes gleamed with cruel delight as she watched Linsey struggle. "I almost forgot," Carol said in a mockingly casual tone. "Didn't you sprain this hand not long ago? I doubt it's healed yet, has it?"

Carol feigned innocence with a blink, but her grip only tightened. Linsey clenched her teeth as the pain in her wrist became overwhelming, her head spinning from the intensity.

She refused to beg or plead, holding back any sound beyond a sharp cry of pain. Her silence only fueled Carol's frustration.

"Honestly, Linsey, your stubbornness is getting old," Carol muttered with a bored sigh before suddenly releasing her grip.

Linsey gasped for breath, her body trembling as she tried to steady herself. Though her breaths came in ragged sobs, she didn't let herself cry out any further. Her hand shook, and tears welled in her eyes, which she kept cast downward.

As soon as she let go of Linsey's hand, Carol's attention was drawn to a fruit knife on a nearby table.

A dark thought flickered across her face. She spoke with chilling calm. "Alexa, bring me that knife and cut off one of her fingers. I want to see how she'll design anything after that."

Despair washed over Linsey, her gaze growing hollow as a flash of hopelessness crossed her features.
