Chapter 1402: Honestly, it wasn't the iced latte that hurt her most. It was his attitude. And to make matters worse, it was the first day of her period. Her body felt heavy as lead, her mood hijacked by hormones, her anger sharper, and her tears impossible to hold back. Linsey opted for silence, leaving Collin to conclude her foul mood stemmed solely from the iced latte he had taken. To him, it was a trifling issue, barely worth a second thought. Yet as he saw Linsey's tears stream down her face, a pang of guilt tugged at his conscience.
Their gazes met, and as Collin opened his mouth to speak, Linsey averted her eyes. She brushed past him, pretending he wasn't there. "Linsey," he called, his voice low and commanding, halting her mid-step. Linsey stiffened, caught off guard. "Turn around." His eyes bore into her back, carrying an undeniable authority. Inwardly, Linsey seethed-why should she obey him? But her body moved before her mind could resist, pivoting to face him. "What do you want?" Her tear-reddened eyes held a guarded edge, her voice thick with the remnants of her sobs.

But her expression made it clear his offer had missed the mark entirely. gⱯlnσνℓs﹒o is where stories live "Then what do you want?" he asked, his curiosity genuine.
Linsey's gaze didn't falter as she stated plainly, "When you've done something wrong, you apologize. Even a child knows that, Mr. Riley." An apology? With his lofty status, Collin was accustomed to receiving apologies, not giving them. Besides, this was such a minor matter-hardly worth the effort. Unwilling to comply, he frowned. "Anything but that. Name something else." Linsey had anticipated his refusal and swiftly pivoted. "Then answer one question for me." "That seems far more reasonable." Collin's expression softened, and he nodded without hesitation.
"Fine." Still, Linsey hesitated, not posing her question immediately. Instead, she added a condition. "You have to answer truthfully-no lies, or else..." Her eyes locked onto his as she searched for a threat to ensure his honesty. As if reading her thoughts, Collin interjected casually, "I won't lie. You have my word on that." . . .
