Taking a seat across from him, Gorman forced a polite smile. "What brings you to my doorstep, Mr. Wade?"

In the past, Gorman had been the only one in Grester bold enough to challenge CR Corporation. Naturally, the people from CR Corporation should have held a grudge against him.

"It's come to my attention that you're planning to leave town permanently," Dustin said, his smile hinting at hidden motives. "Are you perhaps delaying your departure because of our upcoming annual gala?" Gorman looked at Dustin with a calm expression, trying to make sense of his words.

Unfolding the CR Corporation gala invitation, Dustin presented it, saying, "I'm here specifically to extend this invitation to you. We would be honored if you could join us."

Dustin was aware that Gorman's unresolved feelings for Linsey were what kept him in Grester. Given the situation, he figured it made sense to invite Gorman to the CR Corporation's gala.
