Turning around, they saw a strikingly handsome man. "And you are?"

A sharp sting across her cheek suddenly snapped Linsey back to consciousness.

"Time to wake up!" Slowly, Linsey opened her eyes, her head pounding, and found herself staring into a pair of exhausted, bloodshot eyes.

Linsey's pulse raced as she recognized the figure and exclaimed, "It's you, one of the Lawson family's household staff!"

Alexa stood up straight, her expression cold and indifferent. "I see you haven't forgotten about me."

Linsey tried to sit up but realized her wrists were restrained against the headboard of a plush hotel bed.

"What do you want from me?" Linsey's voice was calm yet resolute.

Alexa remained silent.

Suddenly, a knock echoed through the hotel room. Alexa moved to answer it.

Linsey's eyes widened as Carol walked in, flanked by several muscular men. It was the same woman she had seen at the restaurant not long ago.

"Carol, did you really have your maid abduct me?" Linsey's voice trembled with anger. "You realize this is illegal, don't you? You can't just act as if you can do anything you please!"

Carol sat down beside the bed, her expression unreadable, and whispered, "Why must you always oppose me, Linsey?" She reached out, gently brushing Linsey's cheek.
