Chapter 575: "I need to speak with Dustin," he said, his hands balling into fists.
Moments later, Jeffery found himself guided to the meeting room on the top floor. He couldn't help but recall the time he had confidently secured a deal with Collin in this very room. But the circumstances had changed drastically since then.
"Mr. Lawson, to what do I owe the pleasure today?" Dustin greeted him in an upbeat tone as soon as he entered the room.
His cheerful demeanor gave no hint of the recent rift between CR Corporation and the Lawson Group. "Mr. Wade, where is Mr. Riley?" Jeffery asked, his posture rigid and formal.
Sitting on the couch, Dustin casually waved Jeffery over. "Relax a bit, Mr. Lawson-no need to look so uptight. Have a seat."
Jeffery scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Are you seriously unaware that your company just terminated our contract without notice, Mr. Wade?"
Unfazed, Dustin tilted his head slightly. "Partnerships survive on mutual trust, Mr. Lawson. Clearly, we had our reasons. Besides, you're free to seek opportunities elsewhere-no one's preventing Lawson Group from exploring other avenues."
Jeffery's eyes narrowed. "Since your company's sudden announcement, multiple investors have withdrawn from deals I spent months building."

Dustin raised a hand to stop him mid-sentence, amusement dancing in his gaze. "Come on, Mr. Lawson, don't pin your troubles on us. If your family hadn't created such chaos, why would investors jump ship so quickly?"
The provocation in Dustin's words stung. "Did you really need to escalate things over such a minor issue?" Jeffery snapped.
Laughing softly, Dustin shook his head. "Minor? Interesting that you still see yourself as completely innocent. If that's your mindset, our decision is even more justified."

Jeffery couldn't believe his ears. Why would Dustin-and Collin-go to such lengths to protect Linsey? Forcing himself to calm, Jeffery locked eyes with Dustin. "Are you and Mr. Riley seriously doing all this just for Linsey?"
Expecting a cautious reply, he was surprised when Dustin simply smiled and answered, "Well, at least now you finally understand."
Hearing it struck Jeffery with fresh shock. "Mr. Riley is already married! Should he really get this involved in defending Linsey?" His expression tightened, but he forced a sarcastic grin. It seemed Collin was nothing more than a hypocrite masquerading as a devoted family man.
"Mr. Lawson, your limited perspective is probably why you misinterpret so much."
Jeffery was momentarily speechless.
Undeterred, Dustin continued, "Linsey is a key designer at CR Corporation. Your sister, Carol, wrongly accused her of theft at a birthday celebration. When Linsey tried to defend herself, Carol dismissed her explanations and evidence, even locking her in a storage room where she physically assaulted her."
