Chapter 661
Albus sat in stunned silence for a long time. When he said
nothing, the anger on his face slowly faded.
Only when the outburst she expected never came did Diana
soften her tone. "Grandpa, Vee isn't just my mother's daughter,
or our sister. She's your granddaughter too."
Albus shot her a look. "Do you really need to remind me of that?"
He could not refute her argument. That was obvious. His pride
took a hit, and after a brief pause, he waved a hand and forced
the matter closed. "Alright, alright. I've got people here to look
after me. You two should go do whatever you need to do."
Diana saw that he had relented, so she let it rest. "Raymond can
go. I'll stay and take you home this afternoon.”
It was nothing serious. The doctor had already made rounds that
morning, given him a thorough check, and cleared him for
discharge later that day.
Standing in front of Albus, Raymond lifted a thumb toward Diana
without the slightest restraint. "These days, you're the only one
he listens to.”
“You little brat!" That only made Albus look even worse. He
grabbed a pillow and hurled it at him.
----
Raymond reacted quickly. He dodged and stepped back in the
same motion, waving as he headed out. "Don't get mad. I'm
leaving already.”
Then he turned to Diana. "Call me if anything comes up.”
Diana did not answer. She only flicked a hand to send him off.
The VIP floor was quiet.
After leaving the room, Raymond shoved his phone into his
pocket and strode toward the elevator.
Just as he reached the corner, a fierce argument erupted from a
room behind him.
"Fine! Then your mother and I were just unlucky to raise an

ungrateful little wretch like you! But don't think you can dodge
your responsibilities. Providing for your parents is your duty!"
The furious shouting was followed by the sound of things being
smashed
At first, Raymond paid it little attention. But two nurses passing
by both froze.
The younger one looked startled. "! thought they said this was
the president's wife's relative. Why has it been nonstop chaos
ever since they moved in? No class at all."
----
Something in those words made Raymond stop. His features
were already sharp. When he went still, an edge of intimidation
settled over him.
The older nurse shot the younger one a glare. "Every family has.
its problems. Just do your job."
She hurried the younger nurse away. People who stayed in the
VIP ward were rarely easy to deal with. For ordinary staff like
them, it was best to keep their distance from this kind of mess.
The younger nurse was still a little dazed. She glanced back
uneasily, only to meet Raymond's dark stare. She jumped, then
whipped around and clung to the head nurse's arm as they
hurried off.
The hallway fell completely quiet. The silence made the noise
from the room even clearer.
"Sis, sis, don't go. Just help me this once. | swear there won't be
a next time..." a young man pleaded through tears. "Fine, | know
you don't have that much money. But your best friend does,
right? Mr. Sterling only has one woman by his side. He must be
generous with her. Go ask her for it.”
"Let go." Tiffany shook Tyler off in fury.
She looked up and saw that Mabel and Stanley both wore the
same approving expressions.
----
The sight almost made her laugh. She knew she had been right
not to let Sydney come. Her family had no shame.
No matter how close Sydney was to her, Tiffany never wanted
her to have any contact with them. She even feared that one day,
Sydney might look at her and remember that she carried the
same ugly blood.
When Tiffany turned and headed for the door, Mabel did not
expect her to be so hard-hearted. She rushed forward and
grabbed her, but when their eyes met, her scolding died in her
throat.
Stanley could not stand Mabel's cowardice. He pointed at
Tiffany and started cursing again, spit flying. "You've been
working all these years. Don't tell me you don't even have
400,000! Look at you, dressed all polished and pretty, and now
you want to be stingy with your own family?
“I'm telling you right now, pay at least 200,000 for your brother
today. Otherwise, don't even think about walking out of this
room!"
