Chapter 656
Hearing that, Tristan took the phone and glanced at the screen
before tossing it onto the coffee table. Impatience flickered in
his cold, sharp eyes.
“Are you two idiots, or do you think | am?" He looked down at
her. "Even if Sydney wants to go, do you think Julian and the
Huttons are fools? Do you think they would let her walk into that
meeting alone?"
He had already received word about Sydney's visit to Seraph
Villa earlier that day. But Julian had locked everything down so
tightly that Tristan found no opening at all.
Julian would remain on high alert for the foreseeable future.
That made the plan Megan and Penelope devised useless.
Megan's heart clenched. "Then what am | supposed to do?”
She could not exactly sneak into Delta Mansion, drug Sydney,
and carry her out. That would be no different from walking
straight into a trap.
"Either way, tomorrow is your final deadline." Tristan curved his
lips. His tone stayed calm, almost casual. "If you have the
means, make her go alone. If not, prepare to go back to prison."
He did not wait for her response. He turned and walked out.
----
The man guarding Megan moved quickly to open the door. "Mr.
Sinclair."
Tristan gave a slight nod. As he stepped out, his gaze flicked
back once, and his voice turned firm. "Keep a close eye on her.
Report anything she does."
“Got it." The subordinate responded at once and opened the car
door with a fawning smile. "Drive safe, Mr. Sinclair.”
Tristan did not reply. He bent and slid into the car.
The sleek black McLaren shot forward and disappeared down

the road.
The phone he always tossed onto the passenger seat suddenly
rang. Tristan reached over and grabbed it without easing off the
gas. When he saw the caller ID, a chill sharpened his gaze.
When he answered, his tone turned respectful. "Godfather, | was
just about to head over."
"No need." Jeremiah's voice revealed nothing. "Just remember
this. The shipment the morning after tomorrow cannot be
delayed.”
"Understood." Tristan hesitated briefly, then continued, "After
what happened last time, Julian and the Huttons are watching
DK Pharma closely. Moving goods now carries significant risk.
----
Can't we delay it?”
Their true target was not Sydney. What had happened to her was
only a diversion, meant to draw Julian and the Huttons' attention
away so the shipment could leave the country without issue.
Still, Tristan could not understand who was worth such a risk.
“We cannot delay." Jeremiah’s tone allowed no argument. He
paused briefly. "You have leverage over Megan. She still has
nothing?"
Tristan let out a faint laugh. "Without the Huttons\ backing, there
is only so much she can do."
If Jeremiah had not ordered it, he would not have bothered using
Megan at all.
Jeremiah’s voice dropped. "If she cannot come up with a way,
then you help her."
"Understood." Tristan paused, his expression sharpening. "I
know what to do."
At Seraph Villa...
Albus returned home after visiting his old comrade. When he
learned that his youngest granddaughter had already left,
disappointment settled heavily in his chest.
----
It was all his muddleheaded son's fault. If Theodore had not
caused that mess, Vee would have returned to the family long
ago. Now the entire family had suffered because of him.
Elizabeth took a more relaxed view. There was still time. As long
as Vee was doing well now, that was enough.
When she saw James coming downstairs, she quickly asked, "
Did Sydney stay for lunch today? Has her appetite improved?"
“No, she didn't stay." After answering, James let a trace of well-
placed disappointment show on his face. "Raymond has a big
mouth. The moment he arrived, he told Sydney everything Dad
did..."
He repeated Florence's instructions word for word, then added
just enough emphasis where it mattered. "In any case, the girl is
very understanding. She must feel hurt, but she didn't complain
at all."
