Chapter 19 Chapter 19 Nora's POV After what felt like forever, Declan and I were finally airlifted to the hospital. The second we touched down, paramedics wheeled him straight into surgery while I got stuck with paperwork and medical checks. Everything was a blur-forms to fill out, questions to answer, signatures everywhere. My hands were shaking so bad I could barely hold the pen. The moment they said I was done, my legs gave out. Next thing I knew, I was waking up in a hospital bed with a nurse checking my vitals. "You've been out for almost twelve hours," she said gently.

"Your friend's surgery went well, but..." My stomach dropped. "But what?" "He lost a lot of blood, and it triggered some kind of underlying condition. The doctors can't say when he'll wake up.
