Chapter 9 Chapter 9 Declan's POV I crashed through the front doors in my massive wolf form, charging forward at full speed, knocking over everything in my path. The second I shifted back, I ran toward Nora's room like my life depended on it. "Nora! It's done! We can get out of here! Right now!" I yelled, bursting through her door without knocking. But then my face fell. The room looked exactly like she'd left it. Her favorite novels were still stacked on the nightstand, and I could still smell that soft vanilla scent that always made me feel better. Except it was completely empty.
All her stuff was gone. Every single thing. The dresser drawers were pulled out and bare. The closet was wide open with nothing inside. Like she'd never been here at all. "Nora? Nora!" My voice cracked. I called out, but the woman who always answered me wasn't there anymore. Panic hit me like a freight train. I went crazy, tearing through the whole house like some kind of animal. The kitchen, the living room, even the basement where she never went. I searched everywhere, desperate as hell. Fear was eating me alive, making it hard to breathe.
I grabbed the scared housekeeper hiding in the hallway and shook her. "Where is she?! I told you to watch her! Where'd she go?!" I'd locked her door, put guards everywhere, told the staff to keep an eye on her. There was no way a Omega like Nora could get out of our pack territory alone. So where the hell was she?! The housekeeper was too freaked out to talk. Then Elder Gideon came out of the shadows, his voice cold and way too calm. "Stop looking, Alpha Declan. She's already gone." I spun around, my eyes probably glowing red. "Gone?!

Where?!" 11:31 You Wone Ma Das Chapter 9 Gideon looked at me like I was some kid having a meltdown. "She's somewhere you'll never find her. You did the Luna Ceremony, so focus on being Alpha now. Stay with Cassia and your future pups. Stop thinking about that half-breed." The word 'gone' sounded like complete bullshit. I didn't believe it. Nora would only leave with me, like we'd planned from the start. She loved me enough to wait through all this crap, even letting me have kids with Cassia.
If she really wanted out, she would've left when I first agreed to have Cassia's kids, not stuck around all these years. "Did you make her leave?" My voice got louder, and my Alpha power leaked out, making the walls shake. "I did everything you wanted! I had kids with Cassia and went through that fake ceremony. I gave you what you asked for! Why did you still get rid of her?!" Dead silence. Just my heart pounding and my heavy breathing. In that awful quiet, Gideon didn't say anything. He just walked over and handed me an envelope. "We didn't make her leave.
She chose to go, and you'll get it when you read this." I stared at the letter in Gideon's hand. I could see Nora's handwriting on the outside in her careful script. [To Declan.] I reached out to touch the white envelope. It felt ice cold, and that chill shot through my fingers like lightning, hitting every nerve. I pulled my hand back and reached out again a few times before finally taking it. I tore open the envelope slowly. Inside was her letter, her writing neat and perfect. [By the time you read this, I'll be long gone. Don't bother trying to find me-you can't anyway.
The reason I'm leaving is simple: I'm done waiting. At first, you said you just needed one kid and that would be it, and I believed you. [When Ayla was born, you said she needed her dad for a while before we could leave, and I believed that too. [Then you said you needed a son to take over the pack before we could go, and I tried to believe that. [But now you're doing blood oaths with her under the Moon Goddess. [Declan, how much longer was I supposed to wait? Until your kid grew up and took your place? Until Cassia died of old age? [I'm not pure blood. My life is short.
I can't do the endless waiting thing that you can. I don't want to waste what little time and dignity I have left on promises that never end. (When the Luna Ceremony happened, everything between us died. The mate bond is broken, and we're never seeing each other again. Nora.] That's when it hit me. The sudden pain during the ceremony and my wolf going crazy-that was our mate bond breaking. It was me. You Want Me Back? 2.1% Chapter 9 I destroyed what we had with my own hands. I read Nora's goodbye letter again, then again.
The paper shook in my hands, making this soft rustling sound that felt like my heart breaking. Blood came up in my throat, and I started feeling dizzy. Everything went blurry, sounds got muffled, and my legs gave out. I dropped to my knees on the cold floor, clutching that letter like it was the only thing keeping me alive. She was really gone. 11:32 (0) 800 (0) Cedella Cedella is a passionate storyteller known for her bold romantic and spicy novels that keep readers hooked from the very first chapter.
