Chapter 25 GORE Chapter 25 I growled up at him, "They don't appoint weak men as Alpha, Vince. You don't qualify for the position." I buck my hips and he rolls of. I get on top of him and use the last bits of my energy to punch the asshole in the face over and over again, "Your request has been denied!" I shouted. He blocks one of my punches. I feel Vince's fist collide with my cheek. His punches rain down on my torso as well. He stands up and starts to kick my side. Kick Kick Kick CRACK! I scream out in pain. He broke my ribs.

I curl into a ball, hoping to shield myself a little from his violence. I was weak right now. I had no energy left. So I tried to block as best I could. Vince grabs my shirt and rips it open, including my bra. I am totally exposed to him. He starts to go punch me again. "Good Bye little sister," he pants. I close my eyes, waiting for impact. But it never came. I open my eyes and see the dark figure dragging my brother off me. He punches him until he's unconscious. The dark figure growls loudly. I whimper in fear. This is it. This is the end.

The dark figure turns to me, he kneels down so then I can see his face. I was expecting an ugly old scarred face, not an insanely gorgeous, sexy guy. I look into his eyes, there is an instant connection. Oh my gosh...it can't be. He growls at me, but not in a threatening way. I think he felt the connection too. Mate. Mate. Mate. Mate! My wolf was repeating these words over and over again. In a way I was relieved in another way I was scared. Caroline said to me countless times that if my own father didn't want me anymore, how would a mate accept me?

That fear of rejection cornered me into a panic. I slap my mates face. Hard. While he was stunned, I crawled away, only to be pulled back into his embrace. "Please just leave me!" I sobbed. He forces me to face him. He cups my face and brushes away my tears. As I look into his eyes I frowned. I couldn't, help but feel like I knew him from somewhere. He pulls me into his lap while I cry. Once I calmed down my adrenaline wears off. Then the pain consumes my middle. I moan in pain. My saviour stiffens. "Where does it hurt most sweetheart?" He whispers into my hair.

A shiver went up my spine as I heard his voice for the first time. It melted my insides in such a good way. "My ribs. I think he broke them." Even breathing hurts. I hold my breath hoping it would stop the pain. It does, but barely. "You don't wanna be doing that sweetheart. I've done it before. It's not fun. This is going to hurt, but you'll feel slightly comfortable." I nod. I'm so weak that I don't have the strength to speak. He takes off his long, black cotton shirt and puts it on me. I forgot that I was half naked, but it was night time, so I'm sure he wouldn't be able to see anything.

After dressing me he shifts me between his legs with my back to his chest. He was right. It was slightly more relieving. "Rest sweetheart, I'll protect you," his words bring me comfort. It was also like giving me permission to be weak this once and he can be my strength. I close my eyes, just when I'm about to fall asleep I asked him, "Who are you?" But before he could answer, I welcome darkness as it comes to sweep me out of my pain and into peace. "Congratulations man! You finally found her!" A mans voice says excitedly. Chapter 25 "Shut up! She's still sleeping you idiot." A voice growls.

It sounds familiar, it's almost like I've heard it from a dream I can't remember. "Oh come on Xander. You've been like this for almost 6 years. Maybe she can help?" He says hopefully. "You think I haven't thought that?!" He growls at the man. That's not very nice. By how the man was talking to Xander, they sound close. "....I'm sorry man. I didn't mean to get you all riled up." Xander releases a tired and loud sigh, "Just get out Soul." I hear retreating footsteps and the click of the door closing. I chose then to stop acting like a child and open my eyes.

The room I was in was an average sized room. It had navy blue walls, shinny wooden floors, some white drawers in the far corner, and my bed was a dark red cover with Golden designs. I try to sit up, but the ache of my ribs protested. I moan escapes my lips, alerting Xander that I was awake. He quickly comes to my side, wraps one arm around my waist and his other hand under my legs. He lifts me slightly to sit up. "How are you feeling?" He mumbles. I stared at him at first because he didn't sound like the same person he was last night. Did he sound angry?
