Chapter 889 Gavin's POV Erik was out of control; not that I could blame him. If he hadn't gotten to Chuck first, I'd be the one losing it. I was seconds away from punching Chuck myself. Chuck growled when he realized his nose was broken. It was getting dangerous here, just as I feared it would. I quickly whipped around to where Judy was standing, my eyes looking onto one of my warriors who was standing closest to her. I didn't have to tell him what I needed; he gave me a nod and stepped in front of her, shielding her from the dangers ahead.
I turned back towards the fight; Erik had the upper hand, and I had to admit, I was proud. Chuck was a large man and an even larger wolf; he had many years of training behind him and was technically above Erik in rank, yet Erik was taking him down like he was nothing. I had to reevaluate Erik's position once this was all said and done. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that maybe he wouldn't be such a bad mate for my daughter. At least I know she would be protected and she deserved someone good like Erik. Though it was appearing that he also had a temper and a dangerous side.
I'm not going to lie; I didn't pull Erik off him sooner than I probably should have. I let him have a few more blows in before I stepped into the middle of the fight. I grabbed Erik and pulled him off Chuck before he entirely shifted into his wolf. Chuck was seething and covered with scratches and blood. He was snarling, his eyes glowing bright, and I knew he was about to shift. "Stop!!" Judy shouted. When I turned to look at her, her hand was outstretched, pointing at Chuck.

The gamma in front of her seemed frozen in place, his eyes wide, as Judy stepped around him, her cheeks flushed and her eyes almost wild. But that wasn't the crazy thing; the closer she got, the more I realized she was glowing. It was the same glow as I saw at the packhouse that happened in front of everybody. Her eyes were also a lot brighter than they had been a moment ago, and then, to my surprise, an outline of a wolf appeared around her in the haze of the glow.
My mouth fell open at the sight of her; I had never seen her look like this before, but I couldn't seem to look away; my wolf was practically panting at the sight of his mate in all her glory. Her eyes were fixed on Chuck, though, and when I turned to look at him, he had stopped mid-shift. Once the shifting process starts, it's tough to stop in the middle of it. I could tell from the look on Chuck's he face that he was in pain, and fie wasn't pleased. His eyes were glowing yellow, and his teeth were elongated; fur started to sprout from his skin, and some of his bones were half-cracked.
I looked back at Judy, whose hand trembled slightly, but she didn't drop them. I could practically hear the rapid beating of her heart. Though she put on a brave face and looked like she knew what she was doing, I knew she was terrified of screwing up. "Why can't I finish shifting?" Chuck asked through his teeth. Judy walked forward, and as if on cue, the gammas around her stepped away, creating a pathway. She looked so confident and beautiful right now; even if she was secretly terrified, she hid it well and even made Chuck wince slightly.
The corner of my lips curved as I watched her step closer to Chuck. He looked like a scared little boy about to be scolded. "What are you doing?" Chuck asked. "Stay away from me." Ignoring him, Judy held up her other hand, her eyes remaining on Chuck's face. "Make him shift back to human," Judy said, and for a moment, I wondered who she was talking to. But then I saw it... Tendrils of magic swirled around her, obeying her command as if it answered to her and her only.
Her hair started to rise from the slight breeze that circled us, and then suddenly, orlas of light emerged from Judy's glowing body and headed straight towards Chuck. He gave a panicked yelp as the orbs circled him, and then he howled as he shifted entirely back into his human form. "What the hell," Chuck growled. "How is that possible?" The orbs returned to Judy, dancing around her for a moment before they went back inside her her glow even brighter for a moment, then dim.
When she let out a breath and stepped back, staring down at her hands with disbelief on her own face, the glowing stopped altogether, and she was back to normal.
