---- Chapter 184 [Third-Person's POV] "Are you hungover? You know the doctor informed you well in advance that you weren't to drink while pregnant," Leonard threw at his unhinged wife. He stared blankly at his wife as though she had finally lost her mind. Which wasn't an uncommon occurrence in their home; however, the argument she had brought to the table that morning had certainly topped a majority of her previous complaints.
Normally, Leonard would only give, at least, half of his attention to Isabella while she'd drone on and on about some immaterial nonsense while he'd pour over the newspaper. Their conversations never generally stretched beyond the current social happenings or some ridiculous new dress she and Samantha had to buy. But not that day. It had been the morning after Evelyn had mysteriously left the house without so much as a single word. Leonard found it somewhat odd that his daughter would just up leave with no warning.
Considering she was determined to see her brother's health improve, the older Alpha was highly anticipating that her ---- stay would have gone on for much longer. He knew he should have kept a closer eye on his son's progress or lack thereof. He felt that ever since the accident that nearly ended Edward's life, Leonard had taken but another massive blow to his mentality and wasn't sure how he was meant to function going forward. He'd lost his drive to make his own pack strive.

All that consumed his thoughts now was finding some sort of financial stability so that things weren't due to get any worse. It was why people like the Alpha King and Alexander were held in such high regard to the older man. But, be that as it may, Leonard had had just about enough of Isabella's ramblings. Isabella shot him a furious look. "I know what | saw. Alexander Kingston is not paralyzed." Leonard shook his head, not wanting to listen to a single bit of her ridiculous argument. "I'm not crazy!" she shouted from across the table.
"You said it yourself before, it was super late that night and you were already tired," he pointed out. "My guess is that your mind was just playing tricks on you. Or, better yet, you were dreaming and none of it happened at all." Isabella bit her tongue. Hard. She knew she didn't have much of ---- an argument to make when she couldn't fully explain what had gone on that night.
Not without totally incriminating herself in the process Since Leonard had started to take an interest in Evelyn's life and well-being, there was no doubt in her mind that he wasn't going to handle the news of her being drugged well at all. Initially, Isabella had no intentions of ever slipping Evelyn the aphrodisiac. She'd intentionally bought it for her own daughter whose incompetence was going to end up costing her dearly if she didn't start improving her relationship with her own husband.
The thought hadn't even crossed her mind...But when Michael made his unscheduled appearance that evening after dinner, Isabella couldn't stop the plan from formulating in her mind. If she wasn't able to help her own daughter out, the next best thing would have to be to find a way to bring Evelyn down several notches. She'd skillfully slipped the drug into Evelyn's tea while her back was turned and waited for nature to do the rest. She wanted to make herself believe that the reason why Evelyn had made such a mad dash out of the house was because she was trying to hide her shame.
Nonetheless, the revolving around Alexander left Isabella feeling frazzled. She would have had more of a sway over the issue had there been some form of evidence left behind. She could have ---- sworn that she watched Alexander stand up from his wheelchair and walk across the room. However, there was no wheelchair to be found when she'd gone back to search for it later on. Without any form of proof that Alexander was even there, Isabella was forced to drop the issue entirely.
