---- 335, LOOSE-TONGUED AGAIN NARRATOR The Priestess tested Fenrir in the cave, and he didn't let her down. "He's a good male. | just hope that stuck-up, silly Centuria stops playing hard to get," Dalila narrowed her eyes at Abigail, who suddenly got chills. But the young Centuria's mind and heart were fixed on the man now facing the last trial. Abigail wanted to know if Fenrir had really changed his mind about being free and staying with her... forever. In front of a small table full of little vials, Hakon looked at Fenrir and Dago with a dark expression.

"Most of these are poisons and toxic stuff. If you had to find an antidote to save your woman... which one does your wolf instinct tell you is the right one?" he asked, staring hard at his future son- in-law. "You'll drink them first, and if it's poison, well, depending on the toxins, with some luck you might just kick the bucket..." "You wish," Fenrir muttered inside. ---- "You shouldn't have any trouble with this, since you're such an expert in magic potions, right, Lycan prince?..." The swamp Alpha mocked him, lifting a challenging brow. The prince didn't answer, sharp tongue and all.

He was his father- in-law, and he needed him to win over his beloved. His Lycan eyes scanned the more than fifty stacked porcelain vials, every color imaginable and each one giving off a stench worse than the last. That Dago guy did the same, and soon the other man arrived Time was running out, and it was obvious most were dangerous, but in the middle of all that filth, a powerful, vibrant scent reached him. "It's Mom's magic-she sabotaged one to help us!" his wolf howled with joy, locking onto one in particular, yellow in color.

Fenrir shot out his hand, and at that exact moment, so did Dago right for the same damn vial Fenrir smacked his fingers away hard and clutched his lifesaving spell. "If you dare screw me over again, I'll rip your fingers off," he threatened between his teeth. ---- He'd meddled in their business to save them, and then they left him behind. The warrior hunched his neck a bit and grabbed another potion, raising it quickly to his lips. The other man also went to grab his. Fenrir popped the cork and drank his bitter spell.

When the astringent liquid slid down his throat, it tasted a bit familiar, and seeing his father-in-law's mocking eyes didn't help. "Gale... what...? Aaggr." Before he could ask his animal side, he doubled over, clutching his stomach from the stabbing pain. It was sudden and way too fast; the spell spread through his veins, driven by the Selenic magic he carried. It was stronger, more effective, and hit instantly. Fenrir recovered from his sweating right away, but that precious time he lost, someone else used.

When he went to open his mouth to say he was fine, that he'd passed the trial and wanted Abigail as his reward, a shout flipped his world upside down. ---- "Lwas the first to pass all the trials. | want the Alpha's daughter for a date... Abigail!" Dago's voice rang out loud and clear. Fenrir saw it in slow motion, the guy standing in front of the platform where the single women were waiting. Dago was looking at her with puppy-dog eyes, or at least that's how it seemed to the prince through the lens of his outsized jealousy.

Abigail frowned, but when she went to answer-possibly to accept the man-a roar shook the very Goddess: "DO NOT DARE TOUCH MY WOMAN OR I'LL RIP YOUR HANDS OFF, YOU BASTARD" Fenrir was running his mouth, and without knowing it, trapped again by another truth potion even more fast- acting than the first. He strode toward the man, his body on the verge of shifting into his beast form, all his frustration blasting out at once. "Abigail is mine! Got it? MINE, AND I'LL KILL ANYONE WHO. TRIES TO TAKE HER FROM ME!" He lunged for the male, but a solid body shoved between them.

"Calm down, prince, you're not coming to stir up trouble in my swamp again!" Hakon roared at him. ---- The women stepped back in fear at the wild aura pouring off that apex predator's body. Fenrir's fangs dropped, and he was about to do something else crazy when his eyes slid to her, watching him from atop the platform. That one confused look on Abigail's worried face was enough to bring him down to earth. All at once, his mouth opened and spilled exactly what his heart was thinking. "Abigail, | love you...

my female, you have no idea how much | regret running from our bond, not going straight to find you, to claim you. | feel like a fool, Abiga..." In front of everyone, Fenrir began baring his soul like he never would have while "sober." He confessed to the ones in sight, and those hidden in the dark of the forest heard him too, watching his good deed. Valeria pressed a hand to her chest, eyes misty at the beautiful confession from her son. That had to soften anyone up! Aldric and Magnus traded a knowing look... this was going ---- straight into the vault for the next time they teased Fenrir.

"See? | told you my foolproof plan would work," Dalila said smugly to her Raven Alpha and to Beta Anastasia. "I'm still the best matchmaker." She soared on the clouds of her own praise. That Centuria Priestess was a bit nuts, but they had to admit she still had the knack for bringing destined souls together. And that, without them imagining how much more she'd done in secret and on her own. Dalila's eyes gleamed with malice in the shadows, scheming and plotting. "Tonight that snobby little virgin is going to get her mate's mark on her neck... or my name isn't Dalila."
