Their lunch continued calmly. There wasn't much conversation, but the atmosphere between them felt easy. Every now and then Lydia glanced at Cale, noticing how much more relaxed he seemed than usual. "What are you doing after this?" Lydia asked, glancing at the watch around her wrist. It was already almost three o'clock. Luckily, she didn't have any more meetings scheduled.

She was planning to stop by the supermarket and buy ingredients to make fruit pudding. Grace and Eli both loved puddings, and she wanted to make it with them. "Nothing," Cale replied lightly.
