Chapter 593 Chapter 593 "Ugh!" Eli slowly stirred awake as the soft glow of late afternoon light slipped through the curtains. Her head felt heavy, as if she had just come out of a long, exhausting dream. For a few seconds she remained still, lying there without moving, trying to understand where she was. The room was dim and cool. The blanket still wrapped around her body felt warm and comforting. Then the memories returned. Her conversation with Nathan and Riana-the shocking truth they had revealed. The DNA test results she could no longer deny.
The reality about her mother, Selena, and all the stories she had believed for so many years. And the truth that made her feel smaller than ever-that she was simply an orphan Selena had taken in and raised for her own purposes. Worse still, she didn't even share blood with the woman she had always called Mother. Eli's breath caught in her throat. Her chest tightened painfully. She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to steady herself. But this time she didn't cry. She tried not to, even though it felt impossibly hard.
Her life felt as if it had been thrown in every direction within a single day. "What time is it?" she murmured softly to herself. She pushed the blanket aside and slowly sat up on the edge of the bed. A sudden ache spread through her stomach. Only then did she realize she hadn't eaten anything since morning. Gradually, Eli rose to her feet. On the small table near the window, a tray had been prepared. A bowl of warm soup still released thin curls of steam beside a piece of bread, a glass of milk, and a neatly folded note. "Who left this here?" She approached slowly.

Her hand trembled slightly as she picked up the note. It looked like someone had written a message just for her. Eli, If you wake up and feel hungry, eat first. Your body needs strength after crying for so long. You don't need to think about anything right now. Just rest. We're all here in this house, -Althea Eli stared at the note for a long time. 1/2 Her chest tightened again-not just with sadness, but with confusion over the storm of emotions inside her. She pressed her lips together tightly, trying not to cry again. Why were they still treating her kindly? She was nobody in this family.
If anything, she was a stranger selfish plan. who had been forced into this house because of someone else' Slowly, Eli sat down in the small chair by the table. She picked up the spoon and began eating the soup. The warmth slid gently down her throat. "This is really good," she murmured softly. "Did Mrs. Althea make it especially for me?" Before she realized it, tears slipped down her cheeks again. After only a few spoonfuls, she became aware of how hungry she truly was. Within minutes, half the bowl was gone. That was when the memory of earlier that afternoon flashed through her mind.
The suitcase she had almost taken with her. Remembering it, she immediately looked toward the large wardrobe where she had packed her clothes. Everything had been returned to its place. Even the books she had been ready to put into the suitcase were now neatly arranged back on her desk. And then... her own words to Althea-how she didn't deserve to stay in that house. The spoon in her hand froze. If she had left earlier.... Eli had no idea where she would go. She had only followed her instincts. In her mind, she had to leave because in that house she was nothing but an outsider.
She had no other home. No family besides Selena. No acquaintances except the people in this house. At first, she had thought about going to the police station to see her mother. She wanted to confront Selena -to demand that she admit all the lies. Even though it would be difficult, she needed to talk to her. She needed answers. But after doing all that... where would she go next? What about her school? Her future? What was she supposed to do with her life now? The thoughts crowded her mind until it felt unbearably full.
Her chest tightened again, and before she realized it, tears were sliding down her cheeks once more. Just then, a soft knock sounded at the door. "Miss Eli?" P Comments Support Share 2/2 admin
