Chapter 527 Althea looked at her husband again and again, then back at the paper in her hands. Her lips parted as if she wanted to speak, but too many thoughts were colliding inside her mind. "This... isn't a mistake, is it?" "Read it again, love." Daven gave her a small smile. He watched as her eyes returned to the medical report. They moved slowly, tracing each line as if she were afraid of misunderstanding a single word. Her heartbeat quickened. She read it once more. Then again. It wasn't just the written results.

There was an image attached-clear, undeniable proof that what she was seeing was real. Not just words. Her lips trembled slightly, but no sound came out. "This... this is really happening to me?" she finally whispered. Daven looked at her with quiet tenderness. "The doctor told me himself." Althea lifted her gaze. Her eyes began to glisten, her breathing uneven. "I'm pregnant?" she asked, as if she still couldn't believe it. Daven nodded gently. "Yes." For a few seconds, she simply stared at him. Then the tears came. Her shoulders shook-not from sorrow, but from overwhelming emotion.

She covered her mouth with her hand, trying to hold back the sobs that escaped anyway. Daven immediately leaned closer, alarmed. "Hey... what is it, love?" he asked quickly. "What's wrong? Are you in pain?" Althea shook her head. "Or... are you not happy?" he asked carefully. She shook her head again, more firmly this time. Her tears fell even faster. She even gave his shoulder a light, helpless hit. "I just... can't believe it," she said between breaths. "How could I not be happy about something like this?" Daven took both her hands in his.

"I didn't expect it either." Althea wiped her face, trying to steady herself, but her expression shifted. She looked at him with a small pout. "Why would you even ask if I'm happy?" she protested softly. 1/3 Daven paused, slightly confused. "Because you were crying." "I'm crying because I'm happy," Althea said. "This isn't just any news, Daven." Her voice trembled again, but this time with warmth. "When everything feels so heavy... when I was afraid of losing so much... God chose to give us this instead." Her hand slowly moved to rest over her abdomen. Still flat.

And yet, the report had confirmed it-five weeks pregnant, with the pregnancy progressing well. She looked down at her stomach with quiet wonder and love. "This is a blessing," she whispered. "The most beautiful blessing." Daven didn't speak right away. He simply looked at her, his own eyes gradually reddening. Then he placed his hand over hers, covering her hand where it rested on her stomach. "You have no idea how I felt when the doctor told me," Daven said quietly. "I couldn't even speak. I just stood there, staring at him.

I kept asking the same question again-is my wife really pregnant again?" "And what did he say?" "He asked me to look at the test results again. Then he explained everything patiently, one more time." Althea let out a soft laugh, trying to imagine how Daven must have looked during that conversation. A small smile lingered on her lips, glowing through the happiness that filled her chest. "Does anyone else know yet?" she asked. "Not yet," Daven replied. "Just the two of us." Althea let out a relieved breath. "I want to tell them myself." Daven nodded.

"I want the same thing." He took her hand again and, this time, drew it close to his chest. His grip tightened, firm and earnest. "When you were pregnant the first time, I didn't know anything," he said quietly. "I thought your request back then was... unreasonable. I never imagined God would truly grant that wish of yours." His eyes closed tightly, as if he wanted her to feel the weight of his regret. "I don't know how you went through that pregnancy," he continued. "What you felt, what difficulties you faced. I'm sure it wasn't easy. And this time... please let me stay by your side, always.

Whatever you're feeling, whatever you're going through-tell me." Althea looked at him, her eyes shimmering. "I still remember how hard it was when Grace was a baby," Daven went on softly. "But I didn't spend much time with you while you were carrying her." 2/3 admin
