Chapter 590 Althea stood in front of her wardrobe longer than she had intended. Rows of dresses hung neatly inside, most of them the kind she usually wore to formal events or important meetings. But today felt different. She didn't want to look too formal-or too casual either. She simply... wanted to look nice for her husband. After so long facing one difficult problem after another, they could finally breathe a little easier. Not completely-far from it. But at least the people involved in the elaborate scheme to bring down the Callister and Miller families were now in police custody.
They were undergoing a series of investigations under the authorities' watch. And just as planned, the legal assistance arranged for them-especially for Selena and Harold-had been carefully structured. Carefully enough that they wouldn't have much room to defend themselves, manipulate evidence, or escape the consequences waiting for them. Althea felt relieved about that, even if she didn't fully understand the legal mechanics behind it. She trusted that Daven knew exactly what he was doing to ensure those people would never harm their family again. "This one," she murmured softly.
Her hand finally settled on a simple light-blue dress. The cut was soft, the fabric falling lightly to her knees. It wasn't striking, but it was elegant enough for meeting her husband and spending some quiet time together. She changed calmly, then stood in front of the mirror to fix her hair. Her face still showed traces of fatigue, but there was something lighter in her eyes now. Today had been heavy, but there were still many things Althea felt grateful for.

And at this moment, she found herself looking forward to spending time with Daven without the weight of worry pressing down on her chest. When she stepped out of the room, one of the housemaids was already waiting at the end of the corridor. "Mrs. Althea, the car has arrived." Althea nodded. "How is Eli?" "Miss Eli is still asleep, ma'am. We've prepared the porridge as you requested." "Alright. Let me know when she wakes up." "Of course," Althea descended the staircase carefully. Outside in the garden, Grace was sitting beneath a large umbrella with Gia, working on something in her notebook.
Every now and then the little girl burst into laughter, 1/3 Althea paused for a moment to watch her daughter. A faint sense of guilt crept into her heart. Everything that had happened recently had forced both Grace and Josh to remain confined at home for a while. "Just be patient a little longer, Grace," Althea murmured. Then she continued toward the main lobby. Josh emerged from the study; several books stacked in his arms. "Mom?" he said when he saw her heading for the front door. "Where are you going?" "I'm going to see your dad," Althea replied, brushing her hand gently through his hair.
"Ah, that's too bad. I still must finish my physics problems. Otherwise, I'd come with you to see Dad too," Josh said with a small sigh, his shoulders drooping slightly. "Gia told me Eli's still asleep. If she were awake, my physics homework would probably be finished already." "Be patient for a little while, Josh," Althea chuckled. "Once Eli wakes up, you can work on it together." "Alright." Josh let out a soft sigh. Then his eyes brightened. "Oh, can I order pizza for a snack? I think Grace would want some too." Josh and pizza were practically inseparable.
Althea smiled faintly and ruffled the top of his hair again. "Alright. You can order it through delivery." Josh let out an excited cheer and immediately wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug. He didn't forget to thank her-nor the affectionate kiss he planted on her cheek. The moment he got what he wanted, Josh hurried off again, tossing a quick reminder over his shoulder for his mother to be careful. Althea could only shake her head in amusement at her son's antics. She continued toward the lobby, where the car Daven had sent was already waiting in the driveway.
The driver stepped forward and opened the door respectfully as she approached. "Good afternoon, ma'am." "Good afternoon." Once the car pulled away from the Miller residence, Althea leaned back slowly into the seat. For the first time that day, she allowed her body to truly relax. The car moved at a steady pace, leaving the residential complex and heading toward the city center. SunCity's scenery shifted beyond the car window. The roads weren't too crowded, and the afternoon sun had begun to soften. Not long after, her phone vibrated. Her husband's name appeared on the screen.
"I'm already on my way," Althea said as soon as the call connected. "You actually came," Daven replied, the relief in his voice completely undisguised, 2/3 Chapter 590 "Weren't you the one who insisted?" COIN BUNDLE: get more free bonus P ס Comments Support Share GET IT 3/3 X admin
