Chapter 522 "Where's Arsen?" Chris asked as soon as he stepped out of the executive elevator. Having visited Daven's office so often, he had been granted special access to the floor where Daven's workspace was located. Occasionally, he would meet Arsen there, since several important documents were kept in that office. Daven had never objected. He knew both Arsen and Chris understood the value of trust and collaboration. "He's waiting for you in the executive conference room," Beatrix said as she greeted Chris. Chris continued down the hall in the direction she indicated.

When he pushed the door open moments later, he found Arsen already in discussion with one of the legal team members. Thick stacks of documents covered the table, while additional files were piled haphazardly inside large cardboard boxes. "Good morning," Chris greeted, taking a seat across from Arsen. "What do we have this morning?" "Good morning, Mr. Chris," Arsen replied with a respectful nod. "My apologies for not greeting you properly." Chris clicked his tongue in mild annoyance. "How many days has it been since you went home?" Arsen chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. "Honestly?

I don't even remember the last time." Chris laughed as well, and the sound seemed to ease the tension among several members of Daven's legal team. "We've uncovered quite a lot, one of the lawyers began once Chris settled in. "All of it connected to Bret Frederick." Chris straightened slightly. "What kind of findings?" "We traced suspicious financial transactions," the head of the legal team explained. "The funds were transferred into accounts registered under other names but ultimately controlled by Bret. We've gathered evidence showing how those accounts came into his possession.

The money was used to manipulate reports and plant false narratives that were later directed at Mr. Daven." Chris leaned back in his chair. "So the accusations against Daven were deliberately orchestrated?" "For the most part, yes," the lawyer replied firmly. "We also have witnesses prepared to testify under oath that Bret falsified several key documents." A faint smile appeared on Chris's face. "That's enough to turn things around." "More than enough," the lawyer added. "We've already begun preparing a new defense strategy.

Once the opportunity arises, we'll dismantle Bret's credibility in front of the public." Chris nodded decisively. "Make sure everything is properly organized. There can't be any gaps." "Yes, Mr. Chris." At nearly the same time, on the other side of the city, the car carrying Althea was making its way toward the prosecutor's office. Josh sat in the front seat, while Grace sat between Althea and Felicia in the back. Throughout the ride, she 1/3 hummed cheerfully to herself. "I can't wait to see Daddy," Grace said, looking up at her mother. "Why doesn't Daddy ever come home?

Does he have a lot of work?" she asked again, for what felt like the hundredth time. "Yes," Althea answered gently. "Daddy is working very hard. He has a lot of important things to take care of." Felicia smiled as she watched her niece's bright expression. "You must have so many stories you want to tell him." Grace nodded eagerly. "I want to tell him about school, about the new park, and about the chocolate cake Aunt Felicia made." Josh glanced back over his shoulder. "Dad will love hearing all of that." When they arrived, the atmosphere in the visitation room immediately warmed.

Daven stood the moment he saw them enter. His steps faltered briefly, then he dropped to one knee and opened his arms wide. Grace ran straight into him, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. "Daddy!" she exclaimed happily. Daven closed his eyes as he held his daughter, his arms tightening as if he were afraid to let her go. "I missed you so much," he murmured. His voice was calm, but there was a fatigue beneath it he couldn't fully hide. The tension that had marked his face over the past few days softened, the lines of exhaustion seeming to fade.

"You've grown taller," Daven said with a smile. Grace giggled. "I want to be as tall as you, Daddy." Daven let out a quiet laugh-a sound that made Althea breathe a little easier. She stood a short distance away, watching the moment with tear-bright eyes. For the first time that morning, the weight in her chest felt lighter. Josh stepped forward, giving his father a moment before returning the smile. "And how's my champion?" Daven opened his arms again, and Josh stepped into the embrace without hesitation. They hugged tightly.

"I'm doing well, but training's getting harder now, Dad," Josh said. "Coach says I'm improving. But he also says I still need to learn how to control my emotions." Daven looked at his son intently, pride shining in his eyes. "That's the hardest part," he said. "It's not about strength-it's about your mind and your heart. I know you'll get there." Grace quickly cut in, unwilling to lose the attention. "Daddy, guess what? I got a star at school!" "Really?" Daven lifted an eyebrow. "What kind of star?" "The neatest student star," Grace said proudly. "Mom helped me a lot." Daven's smile widened.

"Thank you for always trying to be the best version of yourselves." Then his gaze shifted to Althea, his expression softening even more. "And thank you too, love. I feel so relieved," he said 2/3 quietly. Althea nodded gently. "We're all waiting for you to come home." Felicia stood off to one side, her eyes fixed on her brother. Her chest tightened at the sight of him-thinner, visibly worn down, yet still trying to smile. She had never seen him like this before. Not even during the hardships of the past had he looked this fragile. "You look better than I expected," she said finally.

Daven turned toward her. "I'm holding on because of all of you." Felicia nodded, then cleared her throat lightly. "All right. I think there's something we should do." She gave Josh a gentle pat on the shoulder and bent slightly toward Grace. "Come on, let's give Mom and Dad a little time alone." Josh understood immediately. He took Grace's hand. "Come on, we'll wait outside." "But I still want to tell Daddy more stories," Grace protested softly. "Later," Felicia said gently. "Just for a little while." After they left, the room fell noticeably quieter. Daven stepped closer to Althea.

Without a word, he pulled her into a tight embrace. Althea stiffened in surprise for a moment, then returned the hug, burying her face against his chest. "I missed you," Daven whispered. "Every night-no, every second-I've been aching for you." COIN BUNDLE: get more free bonus 日 Comments +2 Support Share GET IT 3/3 X admin
