Chapter 667

The facts proved that Wynn wasn't wrong. After that, she didn't

send Trevor any more messages.

Hector and his sister had plans with their classmates, so after

finishing the New Year's meal, they headed out.

Jordyn also wanted to go out. At first, she hadn't decided where

she wanted to go.

But after dinner, when she saw on TV that many parents were

taking their children out to stroll through the streets and seeing

how lively it was outside, with all kinds of fun things going on,

her eyes immediately lit up.

“Outside seems even livelier than usual. | don't think I've ever

gone out shopping with both Mom and Dad during the New Year

before. | want to go out and walk around.”

In the first few years after their marriage, Trevor hadn't paid

much attention to either mother or daughter. During the New

Year, he was often overseas.

By the time he started caring about Jordyn, even when he

brought her back for the New Year, he would only take Jordyn out

—never Celeste.

So, when Jordyn said she'd never gone out during the New Year

with both Trevor and Celeste together, she wasn't wrong

Just as Celeste was lost in thought, she heard Trevor respond, "

Alright.”

Celeste looked up and met his gaze.

Jordyn tugged at Celeste's hand. "Mom?"

Celeste withdrew her gaze. "Okay."

The three of them soon headed out together.

The pedestrian street outside was filled with a festive

atmosphere—lively and bustling.

Jordyn wanted to eat street snacks when she saw them, wanted

to buy oddly shaped balloons, and would even run over to watch

groups of people eating, singing, and drinking together. The

smile on her face never faded.

To keep her from running off, Trevor stayed close. When he saw

Jordyn darting ahead without waiting, he pinched her cheek

lightly, then turned to Celeste, who had only just caught up.

"Don't run so fast. Can't you see your mom can't keep up?”

“alright, alright. That was my fault," Jordyn said obediently.

She stopped at a stall selling sugar figurines and wanted to buy

one—specifically a monkey-shaped one.

The vendor, a middle-aged woman, looked up at Trevor and then

at Celeste as she caught up, pausing in surprise before smiling

at Jordyn.

“Are these your mom and dad? They really make a good-looking

pair.”

Jordyn was still holding snacks in her hands. She nodded

earnestly. "Yep, they're my mom and dad.”

The woman smiled. "They look like celebrities—what a lovely

family.”

Celeste and Trevor both smiled lightly, saying nothing.

There were still plenty of people out that night, and fireworks

could be seen as well. To keep them from being jostled in the

crowd, Trevor looked after Jordyn while also keeping an eye on

Celeste. At times, he would even lift an arm to loosely shield her.

Celeste didn't think much of it and would politely thank him each

time.

After walking for quite a while, Jordyn stopped in front of a stall

selling lanterns and happily told Trevor that she wanted another

rabbit lantern.

After that, she turned to Celeste and said, "Mom, Dad bought me

this rabbit lantern last year too. | even showed it to you—do you

remember?"

At those words, Celeste lowered her gaze. Her voice was very

soft.

“Yes, | remember.”

Of course she did

She also remembered that last New Year, she had bought the

exact same rabbit lantern for Shanice. 

But she hadn't bought one for Jordyn. 

Jordyn didn't know what she was thinking,

After Trevor bought her a new rabbit lantern, she happily took it

and said, "Shanice had one last year too. | wonder if someone

got her one this year. I'll call her later and ask!"
