Chapter 5 Chapter 5 Kael's cold stare landed on Nadia. "Nadia. I'm not asking. I'm telling you. Don't forget-Levi's and your mom's ashes aren't buried yet. You wouldn't want anything else to happen to them, would you?" Nadia bit down hard, tasting blood in her mouth. "Kael, you're threatening me with our son's and my mom's ashes... for a dog?" Kael looked at her, his face unreadable. "I'm teaching you to listen." Nadia's straight back finally gave out. She collapsed onto the ground, face drained of color, and nodded slowly. "Fine.
I'll do the fireworks." She forced herself up and stumbled toward the backyard. On the lawn, the fireworks were set up in a heart shape. It made her sick to look at. As she got closer to light them, something felt off about the fuse. Before she could check it, Vivian's dog charged at her. She didn't have time to react. The lighter in her hand touched the fuse. The next second, a deafening blast went off-the fireworks exploded right in her face. Everything spun. Pain swallowed her whole. Just before she blacked out, someone rushed through the smoke toward her.

Kael pulled her into his arms, holding her tight. "Nadia, I'm sorry!" She wanted to laugh. But tears came instead. She thought to herself, "Kael, if I could go back, I wish I'd never met you." When she opened her eyes again, the world was black and white. All the color was gone. "How... how is this possible..." Nadia panicked and tried to get out of bed. Kael rushed over from the couch. "Don't move, Nadia! Your eyes got hurt by the fireworks. Retinal damage. You won't be able to see colors anymore." Tears streamed down her face. She touched her eyes with shaking hands, but still-no color.
Nothing. These eyes that used to trace bomb wires in seconds were now permanently dulled. She couldn't accept it. 12:28 My Last Gift To My Ex: A Bomb 15.4% Chapter 5 Kael held her tightly, something like pain flickering across his face. "Nadia. I'll find a way to fix this. "I already buried Levi's and your mom's ashes. I'll take care of everything. Don't worry." Nadia opened her mouth, but no sound came out. Only silent hatred burned in her eyes. She stayed in the hospital for a week before getting discharged. First thing she did after leaving was visit her mom and Levi at the cemetery.
As soon as she stepped out of the car, rain started to fall. Nadia walked through it into the cemetery. But when she reached the graves, she saw a group of people digging. When she got closer, the broken urns on the ground made her freeze. Thunder roared overhead. They were digging up her son's and mother's graves. "How dare you touch my son's and mother's resting place!" Nadia lunged forward, trying to shield the urns in her arms. One of the men glanced at her and shoved her to the ground like she was nothing. "Ms. Crawford's taken a liking to these plots.
Commander Ashford ordered us to dig them up and bury Ms. Crawford's dog here." Kael? Hearing that name felt like thousands of thorns stabbing through her body, tearing her apart from the inside. She didn't understand. Why couldn't they just leave her alone? The man raised his shovel, aiming straight for Levi's urn. Nadia threw herself over it, ignoring her still-healing wounds. The next second, the shovel slammed into her back. Blood soaked through her clothes instantly. Then a sharp voice came from behind.
