Chapter 19 Chapter 19 After the press conference, Nadia's throat was raw. She was about to head back to the lounge when her phone buzzed. It was a friend. "Nadia, did you see the news? Vivian got publicly kicked out of the Ashford family. She's got nothing to do with them anymore." "Those two used to sneak around pretending to be siblings, and now they're tearing each other apart like rabid dogs. It's honestly satisfying." Hearing Kael's name again made Nadia's jaw tighten. "Their business has nothing to do with me anymore." Her friend hesitated.
"But I heard Kael's been searching everywhere for you. He even put out a reward-two thousand bucks for anyone who can find you. Half of San Diego's looking now." Nadia's face stayed flat. "It's over between us." She hung up. Nadia glanced at the newspaper on the table. Against her better judgment, she opened it. Kael's name was plastered across the front page. KAEL ASHFORD PUBLICLY EXPELS Vivian FROM THE ASHFORD FAMILY. The staff outside the lounge were gossiping about it too.

"I bet Kael just kicked Vivian out so he could be with her openly." "Kael didn't even care about his own son for Vivian. This is just him paving the way to marry her." "Now that Nadia's gone, who's he even pretending for? If I didn't know he was into his adopted sister, I'd think he actually loved Nadia." "Classic performance. Stop the act. The only person Kael truly loves is himself." A slender hand reached over and pulled the newspaper out of Nadia's grip. "Stop reading that. Look at this instead." Declan handed her a contract. Nadia blinked at the equity transfer agreement in front of her.
"What's this?" Declan smirked. "This is what I got in exchange for the fifty percent of assets you gave me. Consider it your cut for this project." 12:29 My Last Gift To My Ex: A Bomb 69.2% Chapter 19 Nadia stared. She thought their deal was simple-she gave him the shares, he helped her disappear. Declan watched her process it, then flicked her forehead lightly. "What are you thinking? You earned this. Without your demolition tech, we never would've landed a project this big." She met his steady gaze. Then she took the contract and signed her name.
The second she did, Declan relaxed the hand he'd been clenching behind his back. He smiled and took her hand. "Come on. I wanna show you something." Nadia looked at him, confused, but followed him to the back hills of the Conner estate. Rolling vineyards. Clear skies. Nadia glanced at Declan, puzzled. "Where are you taking me?" He stopped. She walked straight into his back. "We're here." Nadia rubbed her forehead, about to complain-then froze. In front of her were two fresh graves. The names on the tombstones were her mother's and her son's.
Declan stood in the sunlight, looking at her with soft eyes. "I thought you'd want them close. So I took the liberty of moving their ashes here." Before he could say another word, Nadia threw her arms around him. Her voice came out muffled against his chest. "Thank you, Declan." Declan froze for a second. Then his gaze dropped to the woman in his arms. A slow smile spread across his face. I should be the one thanking you-for finally coming to my side.
