Chapter 238 Sherry's Retort Teresa looked at Lucas. He was the only guy who didn't fit her usual type. No blonde hair, no tight pants. Yet he was the only one she actually liked. But this man defended Sherry so fiercely-and she couldn't stand that. She ignored Edward's glances. Lucas must've had no clue who she really was-that's why he never bothered with gentle gestures around her. She thought about their future cooperation. If they could cooperate, soon, she'd have status. She'd become the most successful and highest-earning influencer. Lucas would never treat her badly then.
So she couldn't stay quiet anymore. She stepped forward. "You want to lift Sherry up? You need to ask if she agrees first. "Don't be fooled by how she acts-like she wants nothing to do with us. It's all an act. Sherry's the best at faking it. "Once, Sherry even said she'd cut ties with all of us." Teresa let out a mocking laugh. "She sounded so sure. Then Claire said, 'Fine-never call me Mom again. Never step foot in the Campbell Villa. Walk out that door and don't come back!' "Sherry just stood at the door, crying. She didn't dare take a single step.

You should've seen her -soaked in rain, totally pathetic." She thought about Sherry sobbing in the downpour while they all watched from the window. That pathetic sight had been hilarious. She looked like a stupid coward. "I still have photos from that day. Want me to send them to you? Sherry will never really cut ties with the Campbells." It had been almost ten years. She hadn't left back then-why would she now? They never took her threats seriously. Someday, they'd use this against her again. Because it worked.
1/3 "So even if you want to cut ties for her, it won't matter." Teresa changed the subject. "Instead of fighting us, why not give us good resources? Sherry and we guys will thank you more. "Take this contract, for example. If I get it, Sherry will be happy. Don't believe me? Ask anyone. Did Sherry beg Gilbert to help the Campbells grow? "We all know why she did it. She just wants to please the whole family. Then she can apologize and make up with us." Teresa thought she had Sherry all figured out-like everything was under her control. Just then, Sherry walked in, having heard every word.
Teresa didn't feel caught. She even thought she was right-Sherry dared not deny it. Sherry didn't even look at the two of them. She walked straight toward Lucas. Once, she would've feared Lucas would be like Gilbert-saying family came first, telling her to endure for peace. Once people had power, they hated family scandals. They'd make her suffer in silence, just to keep the family looking good. They didn't care if she lived or died. But now, Sherry walked right up to Lucas. Teresa spoke up, her voice sharp. "Sherry, we're giving you another chance. Get this contract.
Do what's best for the Campbells. I'll talk to the family. "We'll let you be part of the Campbells again." But that was it. She'd never let Sherry get any closer. Still, Sherry would have to work for them whenever they needed her. Having an obedient dog like that would be nice. Teresa plotted. She even hoped this would bring her closer to Lucas. That would be perfect. Sherry really was her easiest stepping stone. Then Sherry spoke. "I think Tyrone really belongs working in the savanna." Teresa didn't know Tyrone well. Why is Sherry talking about this out of the blue?
2/3 "Sherry, I know you're changing the subject to save face. But you have no face left with us. Stop pretending..." She didn't finish. Sherry cut her off. "A company this flawed-they don't even know how to run their business. Working with them is just throwing money away." One sentence. Teresa's and Edward's faces darkened. Even though Edward was terrified of Lucas, he snapped at Sherry, "Sherry, shut up if you don't know what you're talking about." "Sherry, what do you mean 'throwing money away'? Don't you know influencers make more than celebrities now!!" 3/3 admin
