Chapter 11 Third-person POV George began to resent Margaret's ruthlessness, yet he couldn't forget the tenderness she once gave him so freely. On the days he wasn't out searching for her, he drowned himself in alcohol. Even Finley, he barely spared a glance anymore. Finley had already started school. As for Isla, whom he initially intended to send to Australia, Imogen refused to let her go. But George still dragged Isla to sever their mate bond. He needed to keep the promise he once made to Margaret.

He feared that one day, if Margaret returned and found he was still legally bound to another woman, she would turn around and leave again. He wanted to be free, so the moment he found her, they could reaffirm their mate bond and never separate again. The entire Bluebell Pack urged him to pull himself together, to stop spiraling over a woman who had run away. He heard none of it. Even Finley didn't dare mention Margaret's name anymore. Because George forced him to call her "Mom," forbidding him from calling Isla "Mom" ever again. Finley refused.

So George confined him to the isolation cells, the silver-lined walls echoing the boy's terrified whimpers. Imogen cried outside the door until she fainted. Even then, George didn't budge. Isla, newly pregnant, barely cared about Finley now. She feared George would force her to have an abortion, so she avoided appearing in front of him as much as possible. When Finley was finally brought back to the Alpha estate, he found Isla calmly eating breakfast at the table, not even bothering to look at him. No warmth and affection like she used to see him. Only then did Finley realize the truth.

He wasn't her real pup. The child in her belly would be the one she truly loved. Jealousy, fear, and resentment twisted inside him. When Isla turned her back, Finley pushed her down the Chapter 11 7.91% stairs. She tumbled violently. Blood pooled down each step. Her eyes widened in horror and disbelief as everything went black. The pup she treated as her own had tried to kill her and her pup inside. When George's mother learned what had happened, she didn't scold Finley at all. Instead, she berated Isla relentlessly.

Not only had she failed to protect the pup in her belly, but she even frightened Bluebell Pack's future Alpha, a far greater sin. Isla broke completely. Why had she ever insisted on raising Finley? Why had she tried to hurt Margaret by taking her child? Why had she kept clinging to George, thinking she could win him back? That little monster was Margaret's by blood, no wonder he was born to despise her. After the miscarriage, Isla's dream of marrying into the Bluebell Pack shattered entirely. The shock shattered her sanity as well. Imogen couldn't stand the sight of her anymore.

She sent Isla to a private rehabilitation center, wanting her out of the pack entirely. But somehow, Isla escaped, and went straight to George and Margaret's home. "George, I raised your child all these years! I even carried your baby! How could you lock me away? I'm the one who loves you most in this world! That Margaret-she's nothing!" She was hysterical, unhinged, eyes bloodshot with obsession. George's guards subdued her in seconds. Before sending her to a psychiatric facility, George looked at her one last time, expressionless, cold.

"Originally, I thought you understood boundaries and wouldn't cling to me. For Finley's sake, I tolerated you." "But now you've become a threat to my home. You've caused turmoil in the Bluebell Pack. And because of you... my Luna refuses to come back." Those words broke her completely. How much had she sacrificed? How much had she lost? And yet the only name on George's lips was Margaret. Chapter 11 7.91% George didn't spare her another glance. If he hadn't been so foolish back men, if he hadn't listened to Isla and done something that hurt Margaret, she would never have left.

And she wouldn't have vanished for nearly half a year without a trace. George left the psychiatric center and resumed his search for her. Three years later. Santa Claus Village, Rovaniemi, Finland. The village was overflowing with tourists celebrating Christmas. Colorful lights glittered across the snow. Families laughed beneath the glow of holiday decorations. In this frozen wonderland, somewhere among the crowds, Margaret breathed the cold northern air, unaware that fate was about to catch up to her again.
