The doctor was already waiting for us and we went into the room and I got changed into a hospital gown and I laid down on the table. He had to do a couple of different exams and then he did an ultrasound so I could actually see the baby on the screen. "How does it look?" I asked. "It looks great. And it looks the right size for the time that you gave me. So, your ex boyfriend is that father?" The doctor asked. "Yeah. But he's not in the picture anymore." I said. "Unfortunately, that does still happen. We like to think that we're more evolved than humans, but not all of us are." He said.

"Tell me about it." I said. When we got back to the packhouse I went to the kitchen to get a coffee and I was going to take it upstairs while I did my homework but I heard talking in the office. The door was slightly ajar and I wasn't going to say anything until I heard my name.
