---- Chapter 11 'The young man was Caleb Atkins, a college student from Gideon's village. Back in high school, he had a reputation for getting into fights and even got a female classmate pregnant. In the end, he wound up at a private vocational school. His family didn't want him to go, but Gideon, feeling sorry for Caleb, decided to cover his tuition. Caleb figured this way, he could avoid working for a few more years and keep living off his parents. When Gideon saw Caleb, his expression darkened. "Gideon, didn't you say you'd cover my tuition?" Caleb asked.
"How are you going to give me the money?" Gideon was just a freeloader. There was no way he had that kind of cash. He made empty promises just to get money from me. "You'll need to ask Kenzie-" Tcut him off, "You're talking to the right person. When Gideon finishes donating blood, I'll give you the money." Caleb was tan. When I finished speaking, he flashed a grin, showing his white teeth. The homeless men around us weren't happy with the arrangement "They don't pay much for a blood donation. It's not enough for tuition, let alone enough to split between all of us!" 1 feigned surprise.

"Oh, 1 forgot about all of you. Gideon's got a house. If he sells it, that'll bring in a decent amount." ---- Sure enough, everyone-except for Gideon-had eyes that were practically glowing with greed. Gideon's face was sullen. He was clutching the hem of my shirt, signaling me to stop talking. I pretended not to notice. Finally, he awkwardly asked, "If I sell it, where am I supposed to live? "In your old house, of course." But once the new owner moved in, Gideon would have to pack up and leave.
'As Gideon's concern was resolved, the homeless men and Caleb pushed him to sell the house as quickly as possible. Gideon only wanted to help others, but he didn't want to actually sacrifice anything. Not a word came from him as the men shoved him back and forth, trying to persuade him. Tspoke up. "Didn't you say you'd take responsibility for them? Are you backing out now?" The men shot him murderous glares, which made Gideon change his tune. "Of course not! I'll sell it!" After selling the house, Gideon moved into the house that I'd already sold.
As soon as the money from the sale came through, the homeless men and Caleb took it all. Just then, I heard the familiar mechanical voice. ---- "Congratulations on successfully helping others with selfless dedication. You've earned one million dollars. The amount is now available for withdrawal." Finally, five million dollars. Now that the system task was completed, I had no reason to stay by Gideon's side any longer.
