Alyssa Wyatts whimpers and squirms abruptly wake me from my sleep .

I quickly sit up .

He is crying out for his mom .

I feel my heart shatter as I listen to him .

I cant even fathom how he must be feeling .

I wish I could do something to help take some of his pain away or make it a little easier for him .

I let out a sigh and stay nearly , keeping a watchful eye on him .

It lasts for a couple of minutes before he shoots up .

Hes gasping for hir and fighting to regain his breath .

Wyatt , are you okay ? I am right here .

I whisper and take his hand mine .

He switches on the lamp next to the bed and turns to face me .

His eyes show fear and sweat trickles down his forehead .

Im sorry I woke you up , he sighs , breaking eye contact with me .

Wyatt , look at me , I say softly .

He shakes his head in refusal .

I shift my stance to kneel directly in front of him .

He lets out a loud sigh before making eye contact with me once more .

I stroke his hair .

You dont need to apologise to me .

You should try to get back to sleep .

Ill find something else to do elsewhere .

He moves to get off the bed , but I quickly stop him .

Wyatt , please dont pull away from me .

You dont need to go anywhere .

How about we watch a movie or something along those lines ? I can make us some tea .

I smile and peck his lips before I climb out of bed .

A forced smile is what he gives in return .

We came to bed quite early tonight .

I head to the kitchen and prepare peppermint tea for both of us .

Leaning on the counter , I drift away into my thoughts .

The whistle of the kettle on the stove interrupts my thoughts .

I prepare tea , then return to the bedroom with Wyatt .

He has finished discussing it and I wont pressure him .

Wyatt finally managed to sleep for more than ten minutes .

Wheneve he dozed off , the nightmares quickly returned .

He did so by lying between my legs with his head on my stomach and me stroking his hair .

He hesitated before he moved into this position .

He said he was being pathetic and needed , but I reassured him .

I am glad I did because he is finally asleep .

Unfortunately , I doubt Ill be able to fall back asleep .

I prefer to stay awake in case he wakes up once more .

Wyatt doesnt need to know this .

If he found out I didnt get any , he would not be happy with me .

As he begins to talk in his sleep , I initially think its another nightmare , but thats not the case .

Hes mumbling , but hes got a smile on his face .

He seems to be having a good dream for a change .

I wonder what he is dreaming of .

What is causing him to smile and laugh ? In his sleep , he flips over and snuggles into my stomach , his hands resting on my hip .

I gently run my fingers through his hair and shut my eyes .

Now that he appears more settled , I might be able to catch some sleep .

He mutters my name .

I couldnt understand the rest of it .

Is it me whos making him smile like that ? He falls silent after that and starts to store slightly , his fingers circling my hips , His touch makes me tremble .

Even in his sleep , that damn man can affect me .

Although it was an emotional day , we still found moments to enjoy ourselves .

Lets hope tomorrow brings a better day .

Im not excited about Saturday .

Theres a chance that people at the business event will see me with Wyatt , and Id prefer it if they didnt .

I really dont want our relationship to become public .

It wont go well for me in the office .

I regret not being more assertive and telling him no .

I suppose Ill have to handle the situation .

The idea makes me sigh .

If not for today , tomorrow would have been the perfect day to take off .

It would be suspicious if we both missed two days together .

People might already be suspicious .
