Chapter 9 The screen went dark again before switching to another memory. Now, my memory of the Grahams trying to wash my feet appeared on screen. From the crack of the bedroom door, I saw them slipping something into the boiling water as they prepared the foot bath. "I collected a whole month's worth of my classmates' dead skin. If Mom soaks her feet in this, she won't be able to go out tomorrow. Then, Sally can go to the amusement park with us!" Bruce flicked his son's forehead. "No doubt, you're Wanda's son- sneaky as hell.

But what if she doesn't soak her feet?" Sean contemplated this for a while. "Then, I'll pretend to spill it over her head. If she accidentally drinks it, she'll definitely have diarrhea. No matter what, we cannot miss Sally's birthday tomorrow." I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. Then, I went back to bed and gulped down more fever medicine. Moments later, Bruce and Sean entered with the basin of water. Since the impression of me pouring the water on them was still fresh in everyone's memory, the judge skipped the rest of this scene and fast-forwarded.

A scene in the hospital bathroom appeared on-screen next. Bruce and Sean were now hospitalized for bacterial infection from drinking the contaminated water. They'd even booked a double ward to take care of each other. Inside the bathroom, Sean whispered, "Dad, are you sure the judge won't notice the blood packs?" Bruce hurriedly stuffed the blood pack bag back into his pants. "They won't. All they'll see is us bleeding on the bed-and your mom doing nothing to help." Hearing that, Sean pecked Bruce's cheek gleefully.

"Dad, you're the real savage one here." Both of them were basking in their imminent triumph, completely unaware that last night, while they slept, I'd already installed a micro camera inside the bathroom. I had no other choice. After all, I needed proof. The memory ended there. The courtroom fell completely silent. Even the live stream chat seemed to pause. Silence hung heavy in the air. My throat was burning, still raw from when Bruce slammed my head into the wall earlier. The blood in my throat made me cough. Only then did the hushed whispers return.

"So Wanda was the victim all along..." "She's their wife and mother. Why would her own family do that to her?" "I actually feel bad for her. Why did they even do that?" "Why? Isn't it obvious? The only reason they did that was because she refused to leave the marriage empty-handed." "Exactly. And they only forced her out because she was ungrateful when Sally risked her life to save her. Honestly, greedy women who cling to family wealth and won't repay a life-saving favor are the worst." Suddenly, a small voice broke through the noise. "But...

what if Sally never saved Wanda at all?" A profound silence blanketed the courtroom for a second, then chaos erupted again. "That's utter nonsense! Everyone saw Sally save her!" "Yeah! Half the car was hanging off the cliff, and Sally risked her life to pull Wanda out. How could you lie through your teeth like that?" The heated discussion among the crowd made Sally stiffen. But after Bruce comforted her, she regained her composure.

Bruce turned toward the judge and firmly said, "Since everyone's doubtful, I request that the judge project Wanda's memory of the car accident." Sally's face instantly fell.
