Chapter 10 Before Sally could even speak, the judge granted Bruce's request. The screen thus lit up with the scene of the crash, a piece of memory they'd first extracted from my mind. I had been cruising steadily on the expressway when my brakes suddenly failed. No matter how hard I pressed the brake pedal, nothing happened. The speedometer shot past a hundred as my car lunged straight toward the vehicle ahead. I slammed the horn repeatedly. The moment I did, the car in front suddenly braked. I had no choice but to swerve my car to the side to avoid hitting it.

As a result, my car crashed into the guardrail. From the sheer momentum, the vehicle lurched forward until it skidded to a stop right at the edge of a cliff. My mind instantly went blank. I turned my head toward Bruce and Sean, who were a safe distance away, desperately calling for help. But they were frozen in shock, too terrified to move. The sturdy vehicle shook like a leaf in the wind. Just then, Sally appeared like a knight in shining armor. The Grahams desperately tried to stop her, yelling that saving me was too risky.

They'd already called an ambulance and the police, assuring her that help was on the way. They told her that she shouldn't risk her life. But Sally's eyes were filled with concern. Ignoring their objections, she sprinted toward me. In that instant, memories of everything I had done to her flooded my mind. Bruce and Sean had always chosen her over me, and I'd subconsciously insulted her for being a pretentious bitch who kept trying to sabotage me.

But now that my life was at stake, all I could think of was that if she saved me this time, I would put the past behind me and truly bare my heart to her. I'd be best friends with her and apologize for my past mistakes. Feeling guilty, I watched her walk toward me. What I hadn't expected was for her to suddenly vomit blood when she came up to me. She even showed me a tiny razor blade hidden in her mouth. In that exact second, I knew something was terribly wrong. She had stuffed a blood pack in her mouth in advance to stage a tragic heroic act.

Sure enough, as soon as she reached me, she immediately began sawing at my seatbelt with the blade. As she did so, blood gushed out of her mouth. To the onlookers, it must've looked like she was risking everything, even biting through the jammed belt with her teeth to free But the truth was my seatbelt wasn't jammed at all. Sally kept moving, and both her hands were clamped tightly around my upper body. Glaring up at me from below, she hissed, " Go to hell."
