Her tears are his weakness novel

It sounded like a side comment from a chastising husband. Leonardo chuckled. "Buying young and beautiful is even better."

Before she could respond, Leonardo continued, "Aren't you here for a meal? Why are you still lingering around my table? We've almost finished eating."

"I don't suppose you'd like to eat?" Yvette bit her lip. There was no way she could remain there after being dismissed so bluntly. She rose from her seat. "I have a lunch meeting to attend, so I take my leave. This meal is on me. Think of it as my treat for this little woman."

The phrase "little woman" rang oddly in Samantha's ears. Why did Yvette keep treating her like a naive younger woman? Just then, Leonardo interjected, "I don’t need your money; it’s a kind gesture."

"Then thanks for your kindness." Yvette's smile tightened. "You're really not cutting me any slack today."

"Fine, invite her for a meal instead," Leonardo said as Yvette finally left. The moment she was gone, the atmosphere in the private room lifted, and Samantha let out a sigh of relief.

Leonardo chuckled. "Were you scared of her? Weren't you holding your own pretty well?"

Samantha pursed her lips. "That was just me talking tough."

"Yeah, you talk really tough," Leonardo teased as Samantha continued to gobble down her meal. She didn’t spare even the last remaining scraps on the plates; she was determined to clear them all.

Leonardo watched her as she approached the end of her meal, worried that she might still be hungry. "Shall we order more?"

She studied the final bite in her mouth, her cheeks puffing out like a little hamster. The sight unexpectedly warmed Leonardo's chest. He poured her a cup of brandy and handed it over. "Drink some to help with digestion."

"Okay."

Maybe it was the brandy, or perhaps all the drinks she'd had before, but Samantha found herself needing to use the restroom. Leonardo remained in the private room while she stepped out.

As Samantha finished washing her hands, Yvette coincidentally walked in. The sharp click of her high heels on the marble floor echoed through the restroom. Samantha glanced up at the mirror, and her eyes met Yvette’s. Yvette's smile was warm, but her expression was cold and unyielding, as if she'd been waiting for this moment.

She stepped to the sink beside Samantha and turned on the faucet. The sound of rushing water drowned out her voice. "Samantha, right? I've seen plenty of women trying to get close to Leo. Not one has succeeded. I admit, you're better than most. At least you got a meal out of him. But let me give you a piece of advice: don’t overstep your boundaries. You’ll never belong in his world. Don’t make a fool out of yourself."

Samantha finished washing her hands, then calmly pulled out a paper towel and dried them off. She turned to Yvette with a smile.

Yvette's brows furrowed. She had clearly expected a fight. Switching tactics, she grabbed a paper towel to wipe her own hands as well. "Alright, name your price. How much will it take for you to leave Leo?"

Samantha blinked, surprised. She had never thought she would experience a moment straight out of a soap opera.
