In a fit of anger, Samantha held back her strength as she confronted Leonardo, who remained silent throughout. It was only then that she realized she had overstepped her bounds; after all, Leonardo was far more powerful than she was. Even she was taken aback by her own actions. Instead of retaliating, he simply lent her his attention, swallowing back whatever remark he had been about to make. He turned away and walked toward the couch, lazily sinking into its depths.

Stretched out with his long legs extended and an air of relaxed confidence, he appeared so handsome that it made Samantha wonder how to even ask for a favor.

"So, how do you ask for a favor?" Leonardo inquired, his tone indicating that the situation was not in his favor, and Samantha knew she had only herself to blame. Without hesitation, she scurried over to him, but once she arrived, she hesitated, unsure whether to sit across from him or beside him. Before she could make a decision, Leonardo glanced at the empty spot beside him and said, "Watch your attitude."

Samantha had never encountered anything like this before, but his message was clear enough. She immediately sat down beside him and inched closer, doing so of her own volition. Leonardo nodded slightly, seemingly pleased. Samantha rubbed her face and looked at Leonardo with wide, hopeful eyes.

"So, what will it take for you to help me? You can try begging, please! I’m being sincere!" She understood that begging could persuade him to help with Cynthia's operation, but she feared that her words might easily lose their impact.

"That's just lip service," Leonardo replied indifferently.

"It's not insincere at all! Then what can I do?" she pressed.

"Figure it out yourself," he replied, turning his head away to stare blankly ahead, exuding a sense of indifference. Samantha felt frustration wash over her as she racked her brain; she had no experience with this kind of negotiation, and her thoughts buzzed chaotically.

"I'm in no rush. You can think it over after you leave," he added.

Holding back her anger, she desperately sought a way to turn the situation to her advantage. She blurted out, "But before that, I need to confirm something. Do you actually have any pull with Dr. Bed?"

Leonardo shot her a sharp glance of warning, causing her to scoot to the edge of the couch, gripping the armrest tightly.

"I was just asking. There's no need for you to be so worked up."

"Am I worked up?" Samantha nodded emphatically.

Leonardo furrowed his brows, his eyes narrowing before he took a deep breath to maintain his composure. He couldn't believe how she had managed to irritate him; it felt as though she were looking down on him.

"No worries if you don't believe me. You can deal with it yourself," he finally conceded, his tone clipped.

"Don't be angry," Samantha said quickly, scooting back toward him, trying to soften the tension.

Leonardo might be difficult, but she definitely had a better chance at convincing him than trying to handle the situation on her own. Now that she had been presented with such an opportunity, she had to seize it.

They had barely finished speaking when a knock interrupted them.

"Read, Mr. Garnet tells us not to disturb them," came a calm voice from the door, completely devoid of guilt.

"Come in," Leonardo called out.

The door opened, revealing a nurse holding a medical report in her hands. "Avoid staying up late. Neither of you has any major problems. I won't elaborate, but it's all in the report. In short, both of you should just take it easy."

Samantha exchanged glances with Leonardo; they both felt relieved that nothing seemed amiss in their health reports.

"Should you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'll be here all day today," the nurse added as she departed, leaving Samantha with a lingering sense of unease.

She glanced through her report, finding that everything appeared normal except for a slight anemia and a few values that were slightly above or below average. Despite the minor discrepancies, there was nothing alarming.

A blanket sigh of relief washed over her; it had been nerve-wracking to visit the hospital, fearing they might discover something wrong. But now that she knew she was fine, she was overwhelmed by gratitude.
