---- Chapter 7 Whoever did it had been merciless. People began whispering that the dungeon boss was sending a warning. I kept my head down. Victor had told me to sleep in his room the night before, but he never came back all night. I didn't tell anyone. After all, someone had just been killed, and everyone was on edge. One veteran even pulled out a rare item called the Specter Scanner, which could detect monsters. My heart nearly stopped. I might look human, but underneath, I was still a monster. If that scanner passed over me, my identity would be exposed instantly.
I forced a cough and pretended to feel sick, then I rushed upstairs and hid in a bedroom. Thankfully, the scanner missed me. ---- But I needed to find the ragdoll and get out of there as fast as possible. This place was far too dangerous. That night, a storm rolled in over the forest. Rain fell in thick sheets. Everyone was forced to stay one more night in the cabin. And that night felt even worse than the last. Victor was far more terrifying than that middle-aged man. "How did my doll end up in your hands?" The ragdoll shook in his grip.

Victor leaned against the door, looking lazy and unbothered. "Tf you want your answer, take off your human disguise first." My whole body locked up. When did he figure me out? I didn't move. He lowered his head and lazily toyed with Ragdoll, all ---- calm and patient. "Not gonna take it off?" I forced a confused look. "What disguise? I have no idea what you're talking about. He began twisting the ragdoll's neck. I panicked. "Stop! Please do not hurt it. It's just an innocent doll who eats people." The moment the words slipped out, I knew I was done for.
I cursed myself for borrowing that stupid line from Bunny without thinking. Something flickered in Victor's eyes, and he gave a small, amused shrug. I looked up at him helplessly. "Tt has never tried to hurt any player. We were only passing through. Please let us go." Teven forced out a few tears. "We're not from this dungeon. They were short on ---- monsters and used us as temporary replacements. We're not the cruel monsters you think we are." Then reality hit me. Every monster in this dungeon had been slaughtered by the man in front of me. So I hurriedly added, "They were just bad fighters.
I've honestly always admired you." "Admired me?" "Yes. You are number one on the leaderboard. You have beaten so many insane bosses. That is amazing." We had dated for years, so I knew exactly what he liked to hear. His expression softened, and the sharpness in his eyes faded. I pretended to stumble. When he reached out instinctively to catch me, I threwa full dose of sleeping mist straight at him. The motion was clean and instant. Victor collapsed. ---- My hands were shaking, but I didn't stop. I snatched up the ragdoll and ran. The chat erupted.
(That was wild!] [She actually knocked out Big V! She's insane! ] (No way. Big V got taken down? His awareness is supposed to be legendary!] [Guess even Big V can't resist a pretty face.) {I don't believe it. That monster must be craftier than she looks.] Before we escaped, the ragdoll grabbed a pair of car keys. I jumped into the driver's seat and sped off. The forest road was rough. The car nearly slammed into trees more than once. Thank goodness the ragdoll reached over and yanked the wheel back. "Good thing I have you, Bunny. Since when can you drive?
Do dolls even know how to handle a car?"
