Chapter 788 ce sat cross-legged in her chair, eyes flicking toward Ariel as she slurped her steaming instant noodles. Sliding into her slippers, she stood up. "Alright, alright, I get it. You two have things to talk about. I won't be a third wheel. I'll give you some space." She opened the door and headed straight to the balcony to continue her feast. Ariel gave her an amused glance. This text is hosted at find·novel·net She placed her phone beside her laptop so it wouldn't interrupt her work and answered the call. Jayson's face appeared on the screen.
Ariel glanced at him briefly while flipping through her files. "Why are you still awake? It should be 1:00 am in Croinia, right?" Wade saw it this time. Frowning, he stepped forward and took her hand. "Why so careless?" Though his tone was mildly reproachful, his movements were quick. He pulled out disinfectant and a bandage from his bag and carefully cleaned the small cut on Janice's arm. His brow remained tightly furrowed. Janice looked at his expression and suddenly felt a pang of sadness.
She bit her lip and asked, "Wade, if Alicia weren't your sister, would you still want to marry me?" Wade paused, his expression cooling slightly. "What are you thinking? I don't want to explain this repeatedly. Hypothetical situations aren't worth overthinking." He finished applying the bandage and let go of her hand. His displeasure was clear, though the reason was something Janice couldn't guess. She understood that Wade was essentially telling her not to make a fuss over nothing. Looking down at the bandage on her hand, Janice nodded quietly.
"I'll let you get back to your work." She quickly walked away. When she returned to her room, Ariel was boiling water. She immediately noticed Janice's mood. She paused, walked over, and tilted his head as she looked at her." What's wrong? Are you upset? Did you two argue?" Janice didn't even know how to describe it. There hadn't really been an argument. Thinking back at the whole situation, it seemed she had only been making a mountain out of a molehill. After all, Wade and Alicia were just siblings with a close bond. Why would she mind? It made her seem unreasonable.
Janice lowered her head, feeling dejected. "Not exactly. I don't know how to put it. Ariel was concerned about Janice. The latter was usually carefree and straightforward, but she could be a little slow when it came to feelings. "You need to figure out what you really want. If you can't handle something that makes you unhappy, don't force yourself, okay?" She took Janice's hand and spoke gently. Feeling lost, Janice looked down. "I want to marry him. I'm not young anymore. I've been waiting for him to come back. My goal...

I guess it's just stability." As for everything else she was feeling, she even wondered if it was because they hadn't seen each other for so long. Ariel ruffled her hair. "That's just the result. The process matters too. Your feelings will give you the answer." Janice took a deep breath, then waved her hand lightly. "Right. Relationships are about slowly working things 1/2 out. I can't rush to a conclusion." She quickly figured it out. Bending over slightly, she beamed and held onto Ariel's arm. She was still looking forward to the future. "It should get better, right?
The wedding's only a few months away anyway." Once they were married, she felt it would be a fresh start, and that both of them would be more responsible. Ariel glanced at her, wanting to say something, but stopped herself. Janice's personality was different from hers. Janice had grown up loved and pampered. She was always radiating energy and optimism. However, optimism could sometimes make things seem better than they were. What mattered most was Janice's own experience. Some lessons couldn't be taught with words. They had to be learned through experience.
Janice decided not to dwell on what had happened with Wade. Cheerfully, she pulled out some snacks she had brought from Croinia. "I'll make some instant noodles! I'm not used to the food here." Seeing her return to her usual self, Ariel let out a small sigh of relief. After tidying up, Ariel opened her laptop to review detailed information about the country. Not long after, her phone rang. She glanced at it and noticed it was a video call from Jayson. It should already be the middle of the night in Croinia. 2/2 Jayson seemed to be in his study. He casually rested his phone on the desk.
"I just need to make sure you arrived safely. Are you even human, Ms. Walker? Can't you even send me a text?" Ariel felt a little guilty. She had intended to wait until morning to notify him, thinking it was too late and she might disturb him. Besides, she had been used to being independent for so long that her habits hadn't fully shifted. She admitted it was her fault. "Sorry," she said softly. Jayson looked at her earnest expression and let out a chuckle. "Well, you're quick to admit it. Anyway, are you feeling any discomfort? How's the environment?
If it's not ideal, I can speak with the higher-ups and arrange for medical staff to come take care of you." He couldn't help but feel concerned for Ariel. Ariel quickly cut him off. "No need to fuss. I'm fine. I'm here to work, not to enjoy myself." Jayson looked at her, then bent down to unbutton his shirt. "You really can endure hardship, huh? I'm the only one worrying." Ariel knew Jayson was sharp-tongued, but the way he expressed himself so openly still made her cheeks warm.
When she looked at the screen, Jayson had already undone all his buttons and taken off his shirt, revealing a well -defined, beautifully sculpted upper body. Ariel froze. "What are you doing?" she asked. Jayson raised an eyebrow. "Changing the dressing. Why the loud reaction?" Ariel was rendered speechless. She had misjudged him again. She thought he was seducing her. 1/2 She checked his wounds. They were mostly healed, though the chest injury would still take time. Feeling somewhat reassured, she returned her attention to the laptop.
She ignored Jayson swabbing his chest with a cotton swab before standing to grab the medicine. His sculpted abs filled the entire screen. After going through the motions, Jayson noticed Ariel hadn't glanced at him once. He raised a brow. "Can you at least look at me?" Ariel gave a quick look. "What?" "If you don't look, all this effort is wasted." (2 Of course he had taken off his shirt with some scheme in mind. Yes, he was deliberately seducing her. Ariel wasn't completely unaffected, but her focus remained on sorting out her work.
Still, she had to admit that Jayson was extremely disciplined in taking care of his fitness. His physique was impeccable. "What's so tempting through a screen?" Her tone was calm as she scrolled through the documents. It was precisely this calmness that made Jayson narrow his eyes and click his tongue. Unbothered, he replied, Thank you for such high praise, Ms. Walker." Ariel knew him well enough to know that he wasn't the type to feel shy or outmaneuvered. She really had no time to entertain him, so she gave a vague reply. ་་ Seeing her engrossed in work, Jayson buttoned his shirt back up.
"I'll fly over to join you soon, and we'll head to Nacsall together."
