But now that Jayson brought up work, he said after some thought, "If it's urgent, why don't you join us? I'd already made plans with Ariel and Chad." Jayson smiled faintly. "If you don't mind, then we'd be happy to." Gary gave a wave and led the way out. Frowning, Ariel threw Jayson a glance. A clear guess formed in her mind. Jayson likely hadn't intended to invite her and Chad for lunch at all. His real target had always been Gary.
